Joystick that won't prevent screen timeout

My Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick works just fine. However when it is plugged in the displays will not timeout or allow the PC to go to sleep. This is a known issue. I want to leave my joystick plugged in and I’m willing to buy a new joystick to accomplish this. But I’d like to be certain that a new joystick would not have the same problem. I would get something simple, in the $70 - $80 range. Can anyone suggest a joystick in that general price range (or a little more) that doesn’t have the problem? I’m not certain but I think that you can tell if a joystick will work properly for this if it has the Power Management tab under Properties. That is Device Manager > Human Interface Devices > HID Compliant Game Controller > Properties > Power Management Tab. The Logitech joystick is missing that tab.

Here is another idea: Purchase a long usb extention cable and run it close enough to you that you can easily plug/unplug your joystick.

Thanks for the suggestions. I can use a port on the front of my case if necessary but I was hoping to get a situation where things work the way they are supposed to.

Having same issue with Win10 and Logitech xtreme 3d Pro for ages… for some time what worked was to disable and then immediately re-enable joystick in device manager…but this doesn’t work anymore apparently due to some windows updates…
