Just Flight - FSTraffic

Thanks for pointing that out. Yes, that’s a deal breaker for me too. I would say that definitely needs sorting.

The thing is that for me FSLTL is really good just a bit heavy on frames. JF FS Traffic seems to maybe save 3 to 5 frames (looking at videos) but I really don’t think that that is enough to make me shell out £27. I was hoping it would be more like the XP11 version which had maybe only a 1 to 3 impact on my fps.

This was flying in South America, using FS traffic

like I say I see plenty of aircraft in the air, dont need LNM to show aircraft flying. So it does work, however not the biggest fan. FS Traffic have issues that need ironing out. As you can seein one pic Aircraft showing on TCAS.

Utilze Aiground and Aiflow with FSLTL. That will fix many of the ai issues and help ai behave in a more normal fashion.

FS Traffic should never have been released in the state it is in. Not sure how it could have been “heavily tested” with everyone having the same issues with it. Really disappointed with JF releasing a product in this state.

No issues in VR with FS Traffic for me, I shot the second video all in VR.

FS Traffic actually mitigated alot of those issues for me without the need of those two external AI traffic programs, which I was hoping it would eliminate the need for. My only issue with FS Traffic are planes disappearing and needing a total MSFS restart and ai planes not climbing over 2000 feet.
Other than that FS Traffic planes seem to taxi, takeoff and land much better than FSLTL.
Besides stacked landings on final which I witnessed but I think we hit a ceiling on what MS/Asobo has to fix with AI from their side. Once JustFlight fixes these issues I could see myself returning to FS Traffic.

If it is of use to anyone, my initial load into the sim produced no traffic, despite following all the config guidance and removing ground clutter in GSX. I found a recommendation on the JF support forum to clear out the cache in the appdata folder, and this seems to have worked insofar as my next sim session showed traffic. Yet to do an actual flight yet but maybe some time this week.

I note that the documentation recommends that you restart the sim between multiple sectors. This is a shame as I frequently do multiple sectors, and it is a bit immersion-breaking to jump out and back in to the sim during the turnaround, especially in something like the fenix A320 which nicely simulates the actions required during a turnaround.

Most of my sim sessions are A-to-B-to-A returns, I’m wondering if the traffic will still display without exiting the sim if you’re going to be finishing the session back where you started?

It says that in manual? lol. THAT should be right on the top of the page before you buy it. I do feel cheated now. I wouldn’t buy anything that I had to regularly restart. MSFS takes FOREVER TO LOAD.

I’m now trying to find where it said to restart the sim between sessions. It’s not in the manual, but I’ve definitely seen it written somewhere in the last few days.

Just did a flight in VR between LIFR Rome and LFPO Paris, setting the traffic density to 200% and plenty of enroute traffic and also plenty of ground departure & arrivals at both airports, it was probably my most inmersive flight to date…thanks JF! This addon can only get better once they polish some minor issues, but for the most part it just works great.

I see a lot of people comparing FSLT with FSTraffic…both are great! BUT, one uses real time online schedules and the other offline schedules so…that makes them hugely different in terms of use. And for the first time we have a pretty straight forward offline traffic engine, so, no brainer for me.

WIII works fine with FST now thanks to the solution provided by Bill Davis of FedEX Air Cargo VA. He has provided this solution in AVSIM and it worked perfectly.

" So I reinstalled GSX Pro and FS Traffic is still working perfectly. So if you have no traffic I would remove GSX run the sim and inject the traffic then close the sim put GSX back in and all should be good. Hope this helps!" - Bill Davis

Beautiful Soekarno-Hatta with FST

Ah right, that’s where I saw it, thanks!

Re: Cache, this is what I followed. From the justflight forums:

Close MSFS. Navigate to C:\Users\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\packages

Then delete everything in the “justflight-fstraffic-module” folder.

Worked for me, at least.

Recommending a restart of MSFS for each flight is in the FAQ, which I think should be in big bold red letters on the product page. Also, and maybe more of a “false advertising” I think is tha fact that Enroute/cruise AI will not talk to ATC, so the skies will feel completely empty, even if you get so lucky that you get Enroute traffic. Not that it matters to me, as I get 3-4 aircraft per hour in Central Europe… :joy:

FAQ link. Look for the part that says something about 0% traffic. TLDR; they say: “our module has a tendency to crash a lot, so you should restart MSFS each flight to give it the best chance of working…”

Maybe it help in control center FS traffic And for see traffic, i ve selected less option in aircraft manager , ground option , set no ground service or fast gate service,. I had also no traffic at busy airport like LFPG EHAM, WSSS, but only at the middle one’s. Now it seem working good.

How do you set 200% density? When I start msfs its always at 100% and as remove and regenerate traffic doesnt work I cant get 200% to load… is there a cfg file which we can manipulate to save settings inside the toolbar?

Would also love to know that, I also would like to know if rather than 25,50,75,100 making it something like 35 possible or not.

Cheers.Ill give it a try.

There’s another problem. The FS Traffic Control Centre refuses to open. I tried double clicking, right click open, right click run as administrator. opening it with MSFS running. Running it after windows restart. None of them works, the app just won’t open for me at all. It’s not even running on task manager too.

@NeoKingRthur

Try this and see if it helps:

Delete all contents in
Users/(UserName)/AppData/Local/packages/MicrosoftFlightSimulator_8wekyb3dsbbwe/LocalState/packages/justflight-fstraffic-module

when the SIM isn’t running. Files will be recreated uopn restart.

Hi, I am trying to undertand, which is better in terms of real live traffic, variety of airlines, performance and ease to use?

From what I understand JustFlight uses pre-defined flight plans from last year and not flightradar24 but the performance is better. Is that correct?
