I’d love the 1-11 and VC10
Wow im chomping on the bone for their Hs748:heart_eyes:
That really refers to the aircraft that we have in our control, as in developed by our in-house team. And of course we also have to make a decision with a commercial head on so some of those aircraft might not be appealing to enough people out there to make them worthwhile to us. Just a word of warning really chaps, sorry to be bearer of that kind of news. Not all bad there’s tons of great stuff cooking currently.
F70/100 still part of the plans but the team who will complete the work on that are deployed elsewhere currently so it’s just a little behind in priorities right now but rest assured it’s not forgotten. Getting those early screenshots out, can be, I’ll admit, a little deceiving. Essential work to get done and they look great but the vital work (coding, systems, flight model etc) remains to be done and there’s tons of it to get done, tested, tweaked etc…
Hope that helps.
Whatever you bring I will gladly fly.
I think there’s been previous discussions about probably unviable aircraft, which included most of them:S ( as well as the comment above from the horses mouth ). Personally hoping someone will decide a Viscount is a good idea & MS will commission a Trident as a noteworthy historical aircraft, but gotta say the latter is a bit unlikely
Great stuff already announced that we don’t have yet, so no worries for quite a while.
Good luck flying a high-fidelity Trident without stalling it! It’ll need a 12,000ft runway just to get up!
Only the 3B, The 2E was a pocket rocket.
They’ve already said the VC10 isn’t viable, which is a real shame as it would be great to have INS (which could be reused on the Black Buck Vulcan… or a Victor )
The 1-11 would probably have commercial legs, and possibly the Viscount, but the Dart would be very difficult to model in MSFS.
I would absolutely love a Trident (or 3) but the last good one was David Maltby’s for FS9 and it doesn’t have much appeal outside of the UK.
I would love an HP Victor
I think I remember some mention about looking at doing custom engine code ( it’s totally possible, the B247 is entirely custom ) - they’d need that for other possible aircraft projects ( F27, 748 etc just for the Dart ) anyway. If I’m actually remembering that then there’s been no further news though
I’d try and sell a Trident on all it’s features ( avoinics mostly, let’s not forget it was the autoland pioneer ) rather than it being not a 727, and there are a lot of them & they’re that wonderfully entertaining 60s high-tech. But without a sponsor I suspect it’s not happening.
Not just autoland, but the crazy plastic boost engine in the 3B
Bit like the real thing, then! Joking aside, I love the Trident — but it is a very ‘British’ classic…
1-11 is something I’d buy… for the sound and smoke alone!
I guess your F27 sold pretty well. I believe there’s a market for classic turboprops. If HS748 or Viscount is not popular enough, the most manufacured DC-3 replacement would certainly be. Just look how many liveries were made for the old AH F27 that you’ve released for FSX. Maybe the majority of users still fly PMDG or Fenix exclusively, but I believe most of those who liked 146 or F28 would gladly buy the Friendship.
Just a lil’ encouragement
Nothing beats awesome classics, this airplane is already on the must-have list
Of course I like to fly the high tech beasts but nothing beats to fly the true classics…
A VC-10 or an IL-62 would be awesome if not just for the fact that nothing else has that ridiculous engine layout (aside from the Lockheed JetStar… which would also be incredible to have). Of course, the IL-62 would need to come with a Soviet engineer who says “relax comrade, we’ve fixed the engines this time!” followed shortly thereafter by an explosion in the number 3 engine that rips off the number 4 engine and sends you plummeting to your doom.
I get that “quirky engine layout” isn’t really a marketable niche though, so I’ll just keep dreaming lol. Cannot wait for the F28! The 146 is still one of my favourite things to fly in game.
One of the nicest thing about MSFS is that with a huger userbase now adding PC users and Xbox users there might be eventually enough customers to make ANY plane a plausible commercial success.
So we might see a VC10 some day, JF did a VC10 before so they might be familiar with systems and details to ease the road, who knows, we can keep dreaming.
If 2 engines fail in an IL62 is normal katastroff, flight continues.
A JetStart would be so cool, amazingly cool.
I read the IL-62 Wiki, and this made me LOL:
“It was originally built with no automatic oxygen masks; emergency supply comprises hatrack-housed oxygen bottles and masks for manual distribution to passengers by cabin crew.”
Imagine the panic that would ensue. Not to mention the hypoxia.
If both engines are damaged a bottle with oxygen is always recommended because the cabin will no longer be pressurized.
What is a JetStart in the Fokker F28? Start by pressurized air?
Don’t modern airliners use O2 canisters above the seats that are activated in a cabin decompression?
In the case of the early IL-62 (1967 - 1997) it sounds like there were no overhead masks. Instead, the flight attendants would have had to distribute bottles/masks to all the passengers. That’s how I read it.
L-1011s had them as well.
