Just Flight Hawk T.1

Could I hear about this aircraft from someone who-

Is not from the UK-
Has the-
Euro Fighter
F14 Tomcat
F15 Eagle

What do you think of this aircraft?

I’m probably going to get it but where I am from the USA and watched Top Gun as a kid, I think I am bias towards the F14 Tomcat as I like it more than the other planes(as well as the Corair and Spitfire). I’m just wondering if some of these positive reviews are coming from a place of bias, which is totally fine as well as understandable as I am guilty of this myself.

Also, should I download this from the website or marketplace(assuming it’s available in marketplace)?

From Australia.
I am into warbirds and modern jets.

In DCS
F/A-18C & JF-17
Spitfire/Mustang/P51/bf-109
FS2020
Spitfire/P38 and Corsair
F-15/Hawk T45c

Just Flight Hawk T.1 is definitely worth it…

Don’t believe it is a Marketplace available purchase. Just Flight typically steers away from it.

I haven’t played DCS but the past couple weeks I’ve watched a whole bunch of DCS dogfight videos. I’ll probably try it out eventually.

In the interim, this guy puts out really great DCS content with extremely detailed flight strategy breakdowns. I really feel like a better pilot despite never playing DCS.

What jets do you have in MSFS?

I am only flying in VR… At this stage in VR… It is difficult to do combat mission in DCS… Very hard to spot the planes.
In FS2020… I have DC F-15, T-45C Gohawk and Sim Skunk Works Fiat-Aeritalia G-91.
Just got Just Flight T1 yesterday… But so far, I can why it is so highly rated… best of all… it is VR friendly.

I am loving the Hawk. I am so impressed with what Just Flight have done. Here it is in RAAF livery over RAAF Edinburgh in South Australia. This livery was done by Donka and is available at Flightsim.to

Hi Martyn. Beautiful model but feels very springy and stiff… Will this get fixed?

I have the eurofighter and that is no comparison to the quality of the Hawk. The eurofighter is so bad that after I emerged from the “wow its fast” feeling i deleted it. The eurofighter has a terrible flight model, it is unrealistically fast (you cannot do mach 2.2 at sea level after only a couple of minutes acceleration or zoom climb to over 100k like I have done), terrible textures and does not even look like the real cockpit. You can even have the badly drawn reheat graphic showing with the engines off!

I also own dcs f14 which is highly acclaimed and mig 21 and with the obvious exception of weapons, radar and hud systems the quality is up there with them. But as this is a trainer/acrobatic aircraft I feel I do not need those systems, its a plane where simply flying it is a joy.

Would you mind expanding what you mean? I assume that you have made all of your control surfaces neutral in the sensitivity settings as recommended? Naturally this is a trainer, and also used by the red arrows on the basis that it is very stable and predictable in the air. Wouldn’t it be better if the developers just focus on making it as accurate to life as possible. I am not sure your feedback helps to achieve that goal unless you have seen a specific behaviour at some point within the flight envelope to comment on? Also, if it transpired to be in accordance to your description in real life ie ‘stiff and springy’, would you settle for it, or would you still want it to be changed? Personally I would ask the developers to not deviate too heavily from what they have put to market this weekend. It’s a work of art!

Up to now, Just Flight products have not been available on the ingame marketplace.
I guess you have to wait for several months, if this is important for you

The Red Arrows take a multi-refuel-stop flight path from RAF Scampton up to Scotland, then from there to Iceland, Greenland, Canada ( Goose Bay ) and then down into the USA for American tours. The Hawk has a very limited range so that’s the only way for them to get about. The JF Hawk seems to burn fuel just as rapidly as the real airplane.

I was at Valley yesterday evening ( West Europe server ) and there were Hawks everywhere

My older brother failed at the last hurdle his fast jet training in the Hawk at RAF Valley back in the mid nineties. He then went on to fly multi engines but like most pilots it was always his dream to fly fast jets. He says he can’t fly the Hawk in the sim because it brings back too many sad memories. :disappointed_relieved:

Its pretty interesting talking to him about flying the mach loop for real and how hard it is. He failed his fast jet training because of whats known as situational awareness. Basically he just wasn’t fast enough at being able to navigate and fly a fast jet at the same time. As he says, imagine doing A level maths whilst travelling at 400kts at 500 feet. It doesn’t sound fun.

He did incredibly well to get that far, few make it to the TWU course! I didn’t even get the chance - mild red-green colour-blindness got me off the list at Biggin Hill OASC, why the hell they ran the medical on day three instead of day one I’ll never know.

I know a few former RAF / USN guys who are using VR and MSFS and say it’s wonderful to be able to “feel” as though they’re back in the cockpit again ( various types, fast-jet, heavies etc ). Maybe your brother will eventually get the bug back

I’m friends with a pilot at Valley at the moment who’s flying the Texans and a few weeks ago did his first Mach Loop run, first run with an instructor and then solo, he asked me to photograph him going through…never felt so nervous about not messing Loop shots up before in my life :joy: anyways, back on topic I’ll be buying this Hawk today and can’t wait to take her out on her maiden run in the usual place :raised_hands:

I bumped into somebody coming the other way through the loop yesterday.

i have a little problem with com1
i am in manual mode , i enter the frequency and when i click enter the radio dont swap frequency
no problem with com2 and i can store frequency too

Bought this yesterday but spent most of the day trying to start it up from cold & dark :joy:

Took it for a quick flight round the lake district as it’s an area I know well in real life. Absolutely fantastic (well it will be when I learn how to fly it correctly)

Just one minor Issue, has anyone been able to get any of the Justflight planes (I have the Turbo Arrow III & iv too) to display the copilot avatar since before SU5 or is that still a bug?

Model looks fantastic. I felt I should wait a couple of weeks to see the quality of the Reno planes and the F18 before making a fast jet purchase but so tempted…

Just came across this video, thought it might be helpful to others! Looks like he’ll have a small series of videos on the basics and I appreciated his quick and dirty “just the necessary” startup.
