Does anyone know when this aircraft will be release in the marketplace for PC? I don’t want to buy it directly from the website as it may not work with my MSF PC Windows ver. I bought it from Xbox and was able to get the PC at no cost but on their website it says add on will not work for Xbox. I am not sure if Xbox ver is different from the PC version or not.
I’m not completely sure what you are asking, but the marketplace version is different because it won’t have any armaments. Also when you buy from marketplace, if an update is released by the developers, it can take weeks or months (in some instances) for that update to become available in marketplace.
It’s is easier, better for updates and you get a more complete aircraft (I.e. with modelled armament) if you buy outside the marketplace.
Hi @airborn007,
I see, so you bought MSFS in the Xbox store which is a Play Anywhere title meaning you can buy the Xbox console version or PC version and then download the same title on the other platform. It’s a great position for Xbox console users who later want to move to a PC to continue their simming experience.
The PC version shares pretty much the same codebase as the Xbox console version, I believe the titles are packaged differently that’s all, some DLC may not be available on the Xbox console title if these are really complex aircraft. The PC version is its own download, so running this version will be absolutely fine to purchase the Just Flight Hawk from their own website, and as @XR219 has stated this version has some extra features like the ability to arm the plane and some extra liveries.
Thanks fellas. I may just buy it directly from Just Flight if this Thursday’s content update doesn’t include the Hawk T1/A. I assume it’s been over a month and it would make it to the marketplace by now. I was afraid buying it directly that if it doesn’t work on my PC, I didn’t want to go through the hassle and that’s why I keep waiting for the marketplace.
I guess it’s understandable, but from what I’ve seen on these pages and experienced myself with the MB339, which I bought through the marketplace originally and then gave up waiting on the updates to filter through (no fault of the developers) it’s easier to buy direct from a reputable company.
The other upside of buying direct, is that if an issue does arise with a Sim Update, you can always move the addon outside of the community folder until a patch is released. If you haven’t tried installing a direct purchase before, there’s very little to be worried about, and the JF support I’ve found very good.
Awesome…cheers.
