KCRP (Corpus Christi Int'l) Rwy 18/36 Missing - Sort Of

KCRP runway 18/36 is missing from the World Map, and looks to be set as a very large taxiway when actually at the airport. Rwy 36 has a published ILS, and the beacon (IOYC) is already in place on the World Map. I have submitted a Zendesk request including a link to Bing Maps’ own satellite view, AirNav’s airport detail page, and pdf’s for the airport diagram and Rwy 36 ILS.

In the sim, the physical runway is there, but there are no markings. It’s also on the VFR map.

My Zendesk report is marked “Solved,” so I guess we’ll see what happens with the next update…

I’m referencing this topic and re-opening as the issue still exists at KCRP: KCRP (Corpus Christi Int'l) Rwy 18/36 Missing - Sort Of
which @tclayton2k has noted and submitted to Zendesk.

I flew into KCRP last night and noted the same issues:

  1. Runway 18/36 is inaccurately shown as closed (Yellow “X” on each runway end)
  2. There is no runway lighting on either runway 18/36, or runway 13/31.
  3. Runway 18/36 should be 6,080’x150’ (ASPH-GRVD) With HIRL.
Runway 18 lighting: MALSR, PAPI (P4L)
    Runway 36 lighting: MALSR

This is a quote from the Zendesk help file.

That post was probably closed because this is a known, already being looked into issue.

True, but if more people report the same issue to Zendesk, then there’s a better chance of it getting a higher priority.

Does the vote close with the post?

I’m not staff, but I’m pretty sure you can vote as long as the post is open.

I was more concerned with not being able to vote if a post was closed!

The MSFS rendering of KCRP is based on old satellite data from the period about 8 years ago when runway 18/36 was closed for widening. The construction continued with the closure of 13/31 and it was lengthened, and this is missing in MSFS too. Also, the taxi network was completely redone and a couple of years ago the US Coast Guard added several significant buildings and a ramp for their operations at the airport. The key point is that their satellite data is really obsolete in many places.

Nearly a year in, and still nothing…

They certainly have access to better data now, as shown in my link above.

Both Bing and Google Earth have fairly recent photography, including the US Coast Guard station built four or five years ago near end rwy 13. It’s a matter of Asobo fixing stuff and after a year I assume they just don’t have the resources to clean up ■■■■ like this but must obey their Microsoft masters and had bling and game features instead.

Update 7 did not fix it , Real world aircraft use rnwy 18 quite a bit , regional airlines. They need to update the whole state of Texas (LOL), Thanks

I reported the problem with KCRP Corpus Christi Intl way back when maybe SU3 was the latest, and Zendesk acknowledged the problem and now it is just a matter of it making into the queue for someone to spend time on it. I realistically do not expect MS/Asobo to ever fix this. It’s not near as important as creating an air race game for the XBox crowd at Reno/Stead.

367 days since I reported this, and others have also reported it. I guess they don’t care about correcting glaring mistakes.

They are not going to fix KCRP Corpus Christi. I’ve created my own Corpus airport package but it seems with each update they change stuff in the SDK without documenting it and I’m updating this scenery package to keep up with the changes. Their SDK is so sloppy that I’m surprised there are not more problems. I’m working with Scruffyduck Software on their alpha builds of an ADE for MSFS, but it’s still in alpha because SDK is still in beta.

Do you have that uploaded anywhere?

Thanks… that is on my to do list. I uploaded to flightsim.to earlier but missed that library object references were broken by the last update and surface materials for painted lines had to be removed. I’ve caught up with those changes and should retry the upload again soon.

UPDATE: As of 29Dec my modified KCRP Corpus Christi is available at flightsim.to

So over 2 years later and they still have not fixed this? Seriously??? Is there an update from Asobo on this? I just don’t understand how they could be missing runway 18/36, it has been around for 30 years lol!. Yes you can download a mod from Flightsim, but you lose all instrument approaches for the airport. This really needs to be fixed by Asobo! Please and thank you!

I just tested this bug and as of SU14 Beta, this is still an issue

Do not expect Asobo to ever fix this. Recently, Orbx started providing an excellent little payware KCRP that I like enough to stop using my ADE recreation found in flightsim.to.
