Control Settings get randomly deleted.
Yesterday I was flying with my setup (one engine prop, instead of dual engine prop with Honeycomb Bravo). Today I was changing a few more settings for cameras and everything was fine for the first flight.
Second flight (just after that): All my saved mappings are gone. No restart, no changes done, just selected the next mission.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
For the moment this was the first time - if it happens a second time I am going to bench the simulator until the next update. That is way too much work to do this regularly.
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
Changed controls
Fly in career
Fly in career another mission
Controls are back to the start
(not reproducable 100%)
Did you set your custom control profile as default for all planes? If not, it will switch back to the default bindings when you switch to another aircraft.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes

• My “Airplane controls” keybinds for my Turtle Beach Velocity One Flightstick just disappeared. Gone. They worked for two days, including this morning. Then I went from one mission to the next and they were suddenly gone, no longer an option to choose. And I’m on Xbox Series X.
I spent hours setting them up. I guess for the time being I’m grounded, and I don’t have interest in spending another three hours setting them back up just to see them disappear again. I think like OP said, I may have to bench the sim until there is a guaranteed way to preserve keybindings. This is way too much work to do repeatedly.

When you click on the < or > does the profile change?
It could just be the profile is still in the background but simply not associated with the aircraft currently selected. On a similar note if/when you did create a new controller profile did you click on the settings cog and apply it to all aircraft?
Only to their default one, not to the one I set up. It’s gone.
I set it up with the 172 but used it with others. Even with the 172 it no longer shows up. I can’t remember applying it to all aircraft though, but it is entirely unaccessible now. It worked fine Saturday, Sunday, and this morning, and then just vanished as an option.
I had a similar experience. I set up the mappings while flying in VR using a third-party plugin (FR172 REIMS ROCKET). I made sure to check “Apply to all aircraft”. I now deleted the plugin and the mappings are still there but they don’t work in VR. They do in 2D. When I get home I’ll restore the plugin and see what happens.

• I can reproduce this issue by disconnecting and reconnecting a USB keyboard. The keyboard section disappears and reappears as expected. Binds in a custom general profile are reverted to the original duplicate source.

• Xbox series x, thrustmaster hotus one, Logitech keyboard & mouse.

Have already taken the decision to bench as others have suggested as my preferred custom keybinds takes a long time to set up.
For what it’s worth, I made the decision to set them up again, but only the very basic necessities for flying, which doesn’t take too long, and it helps that “general controls” were still saved so that cut down on time too. I am going to save several duplicates now to see if one disappears if they all or if it can be utilized as a backup if the main one disappears again.
I’m still going to withhold from setting up everything, it’s not worth the time, but for now I can at least fly in the most basic of ways. We’ll see how long it lasts.
I had an issued where any controller profile I created simply did not show. In the end I deleted the cloud based profile/data and this fixed that and the CTD’s I was experiencing
I actually believe there are some bugs in their area of the game causing controller profiles to become corrupted/messed up so they do not work and potentially cause crashes.
The downside of deleting the cloud based data is that you lose the settings and any progress you have made like flight hours etc.
I’ve literally had this exact same problem on the Xbox. One of my axis was randomly inverted, so I fixed it and then nothing worked. Went back into controls and my profile has been deleted.
This is the most infuriating of bugs because I have to redo all my controls. This game is so broken it is a joke.
The post that has been marked as a solution is NOT a solution. My controls were set for all aircraft. The profile has been deleted.
I have the same problem with the Saitek throttle quadrants. I go through all the steps. Save as a new profile and assign to that plane. Hit default and then come back later or switch planes and the profile is gone. OR the profile simply has options that I didnt pick. Meaning I assigned an axis and when I go back that throttle is assigned to propeller. It’s terrible and I hope this gets elevated to get fixed soon. I would prefer there would be a SAVE option, so you are sure it got saved and the game is sure it got saved. Just backing out as it is now does not save it. SAD.
I have the same problem. The solution does not work for me.I had my custom profile set as default and applied to all the planes. It was fine for 3 weeks, today I’ve noticed my Velocity Flight Stick was not working as normal, went to settings and the profile that I had saved for Airplanes was gone. Now I can only see the default Asobo and None, the profile I have saved is gone.
Just happened to me as well. Spent all evening dialing in my VelocityOne Flight Stick just for all my hard work to get wiped. Upset is an understatement.
Same issue here. Took a break for about a month (out of frustration) now the hours of setup are gone. Ready to just accept â– â– â– â– â– â– graphics and go with X
