I have heard that it’s easier to play flight sim on x box series x with a keyboard than it is with a controller - for example controlling things like flight trim is easier on a keyboard than it is on a controller
I am looking to possibly buy a keyboard for x box series x
Don’t know what to get
I am in the UK. If anyone can let me know what to get in terms of which model and where to purchase from, that will be good
This one for me : Amazon.fr
These suggestions are mainly wireless keyboard and mouse
I was thinking wired keyboard and mouse might be better for x box series X using the USB ports
So I am looking for a wired keyboard and mouse
But to gauge your thoughts on this- what is better keyboard and mouse for x box series x flight sim - wired or wireless?
It doesn’t make any difference. I tried both and there is no perceptible difference in latency. I went the wireless route due to the convenience of not dealing with cables and the distance between my couch and my media center.
As said previously, anything will work. I’ve got the cheapest wireless keyboard /mouse you can buy at Walmart and it works great. Keyboard and mouse is an absolute must.

Guess you need batteries for mouse and keyboard going wireless
Is battery run down on mouse and keyboard an issue - will the batteries last a long time on both playing flight sim
I’ve got a wireless mouse and keyboard for my desktop that I’ve had for three years with the original batteries. My keyboard at work that I use all day long last about a year, so that will tell you. My keyboard and mouse for the Xbox I’ve only had for about six months now, but it has the original batteries.
I was thinking of something like this for x box series x - should be OK - probably
Its just flight sim I am thinking about for keyboard
What I have noticed is a lot of these keyboards have multicoloured backlights - for other makes to the one I have listed
Can you switch the lights off on these keyboards ?
I can’t comment on the light up keyboards as to if you can turn the lights on and off. They look cool, but if you can’t turn them off, you obviously won’t get the same time out of your batteries. That said, I buy Kirkland batteries at Costco. Cheap and are apparently made by Duracell.
Do you think Logitech MK120 will be ok for flight sim that I have listed ?
This is wired for keyboard and mouse with no backlight
I’m not sure what mine is…it was the cheapest Logitech you could get at Walmart. Paid 20 bucks for the keyboard and mouse. Anything will work as long as it’s wireless.
This one is £20 - about the same price as yours - but is wired
I reckon it’s exactly the same as the one you have - the difference being this one is wired and yours is wireless

This is not a peripheral you need to spend much money on. I’d advise against anything wired…you don’t have the same freedom.
I am ok with wired - it is just whether the Logitech 120 will be ok for this game

Thanks for the info
I just need to know once I plug the mouse and keyboard into the x box series x and then switch on and load the game up - how do you assign keys on the keyboard for the various parameters like trim, throttle, yoke, flaps etc
Or does the control settings give you the default keys on the keyboard for the various parameters automatically - and you don’t have to assign anything or do anything in this regard ?
I think I should be able to use X box controller, keyboard and mouse within flight sim - as and when I need to
I bought this from Amazon.Uk
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00CL6353A/ref=pe_27063361_487055811_TE_dp_1?th=1
Both the mouse and keyboards have a physical switch to turn them off when not in use.
Don’t use the keyboard to fly. Invest in a Yoke or an original xbox HOTAS Flightstick
