Keyboard without NUM key

Hi forum. after a long installation hell I finally managed to launch FSIM, but could not take off in the Cessna because I had to enter CTRL + NUM in order to release the parking brakes, and my MSI keyboard has no numeric keypad, no NUM LOCK, NO NUM .
I did not notice. and I bought the laptop just to run fligthsim2020. Does this mean I have to buy a pc with a numeric keyboard in order to run FSIM? PLEASE HELP ME as I am in despair

You can map differently the keyboard settings according to your preferences, so map something else to the parking brakes

thanks for your prompt reply. But I have to ask: HOW? please inform me about the menu steps I have to go through in order to get to the mapping keyboard dialogue. this is my first flight in FS20, and I did not even manage to take off. Anyhow: I just need to make sure the programme can be run with my keyboard equipment.

Depp, go to Control settings. Find the parking brake setting and change the CTRL - NUM by clearing it and then pick the key(s) you would like to use instead and validate them.

OK, thanks a lot, I am on my way.
One last issue I would love to get off my chest:
My ultimate dream would be to map every keyboard shortcut to some flight stick, so I could close the lid and do the flying on a large external screen, behind my closed gaming laptop. As this is connected to my topic, I would like to ask if anybody has experience in this matters. my old Logitech joystick can not be programmed, most keys do not work. Is there a programmable flight stick available at a reasonable price? (I was thinking of Thrustmaster, but could not find any infos about key mapping to flight stick buttons).

I’m using a T Flight Hotas by Thrustmaster and I have programmed or rather mapped frequently used functions such as flaps down, flaps us, toggle landing gear, trim down, trim up, reverse engine and camera controls to it. You just do it just like mapping to a keyboard except you are in the joystick menu.

For less than $5 buy an USB numpad !

I wanted to try out the games in MS Game Pass and Flight SImulator so I signed up for the one month trial. Is it just me or is it a big FU to its users to not have a set of key bindings that work with 88-key or 61-key keyboards? To have to learn how to set up keyboard macros to take off in microsoft flight simulator? RU kidding me? How much does this company hate its customers?

I mean, they can write the AI to bump-map the entire world, generate the trees, integrate real time weather data, simulate eclipses, but making their games work with a 61-key or 88-key board out of the box? No way man, that’s beyond our capabilities !! ?? !!
