I’ve had problems with LAX for awhile but I’ve recently upgraded to a 3090 from a 5700xt and whoa boy… approaching LAX over the city has gone from stuttery but manageable to basically totally broken. It will bounce back and forth between 1 and 2 fps to as much as 50-60 from around 7000’ down to about 1000. I used to get stutters but I never saw it dip to single digits with the 5700 and it was flyable down to the ground. The 3900 is choking out big time. It works great at every other airport I’ve flown too thus far including all the available west coast add-on sceneries I’ve purchased (except KLAS which I don’t own). Basically, the lowest FPS I’ve seen anywhere other than LA is mid 30s. I’m not even trying to run full ultra… settings are a mix of high and ultra, and widescreen so less than 4k with 100% render scaling. There’s clearly some sorta software issue that’s not being looked into or addressed. The only thing I changed last week was the gpu.
Same here. Shocking performance in KLAX. GPU usage frequently drops to zero causing massive pauses. Other cities seem fine.
Apparently it’s a known issue. I recall same issue in FSX. I also have very bad fps and stutters with the London City Airport addon. Again, I recall same issue in FSX with that same addon.
Makes one wonder how much work they actually did since then. Seems like they “ported” much from that version, and left out even more 
The crazy thing to me is that it’s somehow much worse now that I’ve upgraded my GPU to the fastest currently available and which performs exceptionally well pretty much everywhere else I’ve flown so far. I’ve yet to try KATL since that was a slideshow on my old 5700xt. I used to do London City on occasion, I’ll have to give that a shot and see what happens.
Is it normal near KLAX to have this graphic? (Everything on ULTRA and already tried Rolling Cache on and off)
For landing in the dirt next to a random factory, that looks normal enough for the Los Angeles area.
I know AI traffic on will kill your FPS around that area.
I have AI traffic disabled.
These melted trees and buildings are everywhere. nowadays this sim looks horrible
I’ve had problems with the LA area in every single sim.
I hope this isn’t a good reason for Asobo to skip looking into why this might be.
For zooming way in while flying around lowish, that looks not atypical.
I have the massive stutters and FPS loss in and over LA(X) too. Especially landing on 06L and flying over downtown LA.
For comparison: NYC is heavy on performance but does not have those stutters.
Settings are on high.
