[KMSY] Somebody created this airport and didn't see anything wrong here

I don’t really expect Asobo to open the new terminal or even just fix this problem. I can only hope for good payware (or freeware) for this airport to drop.

I was almost immediately reminded of my days as a math major…

I’m still wondering whether it’s really that hard to run a script across all runways and ensure they’re

  1. unhindered by world objects
  2. no potholes
  3. probably others

Or they have this and just decided to skip fixing things for now.

Well, if you reported it in the Asobo thread used to fix these things then I would expect they would fix it. There is a reason they asked for these sorts of bug reports.

Define “hard”. Would you like to see devs taken off fixing unusable issues or issues that affect almost everyone for this for a day, week, month? The work around for this issue is clearly trivial so it scores really low on the priority meter. Unless it happens to every airport in the world. And it doesn’t.

As is said hundreds of times for every dev project, always it is about priorities. They have to fix the unusable before they fix the cosmetic.

Exactly… report to Zendesk. It’s easy and it will help in the long run. Might not get fixed right away, but it’ll get on a list.

I am not speaking to priorities or to drop everything to do things. We have no visibility to that.

I am just saying someone could have wrote a script to detect these things automatically, and have this run every checkin, or at least before releasing. Automation saves hours and hours for quality assurance.

I’m glad I didn’t fly there when I was leaving FL the other day. Hopefully the folks at Verticalsims will make a KMSY for MSFS. Their x-plane version was nice- and cheap.

Hmm… that is the main terminal building, they didn’t finished? you land the runway that is no longer in service.

2/20 is still an active runway.

Most likely done by the one computer at Black Shark. You know, the one they said in the interview that “…we really don’t know what it’s doing.”

If nothing else ticket to Zendesk.

Yeah, it looks like an AI generated airport…
Same with ZKPY Pyeongyang… The only functional runway 17/35 with ILS localiser DME is actually not set as a functional runway in the sim. Even though the NAVAID is active in the sim.

While runway 01/19 that’s functional in the sim hasn’t been used in real life since 2013.

So when you do an ILS approach, you’ll be capturing the localiser and glide slope to an unmarked concrete slab. It’s even worse during night landing… That airport doesn’t have any lights on both runways.

I forget now which airport, but I had looked at charts, airport diagrams, STARs, ILS, etc. and planned it all out using real-world data. Imagine my surprise when I landed on a runway with big Xs across it. I’m like, WTF?! After I parked, I used the drone to go make sure. Yup. Correct runway, still open to the public, in service, no NOTAMs about it being closed. But there’s big Xs across it in the sim. :joy:

You should see how night landing looks… This is how it looks like when I was flying that night… Lol

In Oslo Gardermoen (ENGM), I was given a taxiway right through a building to get to the runway on the other side of the terminal. The AI traffic happily taxied straight through, but when I tried to follow… BAM instant collision

I saw the impression of a wing while taxing on grass besides the taxiway - I have the basic version. It seems bing maps satellite photo was taken while an aircraft was taxing with shadow of wing cast on grass. AI processed it as a mud patch exactly in the shape of that wing. One can easily figure out that a/c had winglets. :slightly_smiling_face:
