Has anyone else tried this plane out? The trim is atrocious. It just wont fly level. You trim the rudder for straight and level but once you change heading it goes straight out of trim again. Even when you have AP on if you change the trim the heading changes as well.
I know this is not a stock craft and it is a Simworks plane but I thought it might help if someone knows of a fix because this was reported in 2022 in MSFS 2020. Why was Simworks even allowed to sell a plane that has not been updated since 2022?
Does anyone know how we add a rating to the Marketplace?
Flies and trims perfectly here. Either you haven’t read the manual or haven’t set up your hardware properly.
My hardware works perfectly for every other plane! Where might I find the manual please?
Hi mate. What do you mean? The Kodiak was massively updated recently. Go to their website and check the version history, you will find it in the support section with a detailed change log. Current version is 1.5.4 from Feb-2025.
For me with AP engaged and correctly trimmed rudder, the Kodiak will never get off an inch. I agree it can be tricky to keep it perrfectly configured w/o AP, but I can’t generally confirm your observations.
After take-off I trim the rudder back to neutral asap, also the elevation as needed. Aside from that you have to set throttle and prop configs depending on your phase. I use to set props at 2000-2050 and throttle around 1400-1500 in cruise to keep fuel burn reasonable and a stable plane.
If you change heading the wind will attack differently and so you have to adjust to that again.

Hi, thanks for your reply, Did you buy your Kodiak from the Marketplace or from Simworks? I went to their website to look for a manual but could not find one. Possibly I am not looking in the right place.
I had no issue with the AP, it did work, just the trim. I will try your settings for throttle and prop - thanks.
I bought it from SWS directly.
Change history:
The manual is not on their website, it is part of the download package when purchasing the plane.
Edit: Found a link:
I bought mine in the Marketplace. I am not sure where they place the manuals from there. I have looked in Simworks but under “manuals” there is not one listed. Perhaps I can’t see it as I did not buy it direct.
Thank-you, I will follow your links.
