Laggy and slow after update

Hi! After the last update in May my MSFS 2020 is running extremely weird. Just “naked” airports are no problem, but if i’m going to Sion (Lot of mountains and snow) it’s laggy.

Also the start up takes like an hour and half + an half hour for starting the flight. This wasn’t any problem before the update.
Is there a setting i missed? Because it’s really frustrating :frowning:
Im running MSFS2020 on Shadow.

Welcome to the forum.

A long start up usually indicates you may have too many add-ons in your Community folder. Try reducing the number to only what you need for that flight. There are third-party add-ons like MSFS AddOn Linker that let you dynamically activate and deactivate Community Mod prior to launching the sim.

Additionally, I have no idea what the performance metrics are like - you are using a Cloud Computer (Shadow) on a Cloud-based simulator. There’s a lot of connection steps already involved in getting the sim launched with Photogrammetry, Bing Maps, Live Weather and Trafic all streaming adequately and correctly using a Local hardware PC. Add the circumstance that you yourself are streaming all of that from a virtual PC - that might have something to do with the laggy performance as well.

Thank you for your reply.

I only use the liveries from the mega project, no add-ons or something like that.

Streaming with a virtual PC has nothing to do with the specs. The “computer” is running perfectly, and quality will be lost based on my network connection. But that’s fine.
I have enabled live traffic and weather, before that it wasnt a problem, i will try turning that off. But starting MSFS2020 up is taking ages. :frowning:

Just rename your Community Folder to something else or move the Liveries out for a quick test. It’s easy enough to restore, and if it doesn’t improve matters then that’s at least one potential cause eliminated.

I just re initialized my windows swap file (among other things) and that made a huge improvement, where as now the performance is pretty consistent again. Started having simular issues with that update and these are the things I did.

HAGs on and or off
older nvidia driver
new router
re installed x4
found ad ware root kit and eliminated that
changed ip address twice
xbox pc optimize on and off
unload drivers
a few more that slip the memory to date,
but the one that did the most good out of all of these was to reset the windows swap drive, ever since I did that my frames have been pretty much steady, I can fly multiple stop/start routes with out problems, and even the PG is looking alot better.

It seems you have to be a systems engineer to get this run on some machines go figure…But Id try some or all of the above and see if it gives you some relief.

The laggy stuff is gone. Dont know if it caused by live traffic and weather or that Nvidia Geforce had an update (again :stuck_out_tongue: )
Now the long loading times left…

I cannot figure this out, I’m usually quite tech savy but admittingly struggling. can someone please call me or walk me through some trouble shooting. please please please I’ve tried for weeks to go through the instructions

Since last update all my settings we’re screwed up. I’m flying a simple route from simbrief in a pmdg 737 and the plane just started doing 360 turns
