It is advised in this flight to turn off both aircraft collisions and terrain collisions. If you do crash, you can use the “slew” mode to join the pack.
This is event is open to everyone of all skill levels and is meant to be a fun event to meet other sim pilots.
That was a blast! Some of those guys are comical as hell. I think I spent half the time laughing at someone, or something. There’s a great mix of personality types and skill levels. There are wacky dudes who spend half their time upside down (guilty), and then there are the guys who are flying the flight plan procedurally.
It seems to me as though it’s fairly easy to find somewhere to fit in, and I hope that a lot of 1st timers join us this afternoon. The more events I fly throughout the community, the more I see the same names all over the place. It’s a nice feeling to look around and see someone, and then just start cracking up because you begin thinking about something zany they did last night. You quickly begin to know what to expect out of whom, and like I said, some of those guys are comical. You end up looking forward to seeing them, hoping they make the next event.
Soooo, JOIN US TODAY everyone! The more the merrier. Don’t worry about experience, there is more than enough patience going around and people are always willing to help. No question is “too dumb”. Don’t be shy, you can listen in or constantly run your mouth (like I tend to do). Everyone is welcome. The 172 is on the flight plan, but people show up in everything that can keep up with (or pass) a 172.
I’ll arrive in an Extra 330 with both wing tanks empty, main tank full, and I key bind “Set Best Mixture” to my Hotas for convenience. It eases the workload while you’re doing maneuvers with huge elevation changes. I also slow the prop down 50 rpm’s or so.
Our upcoming events:
Friday October 9th @ 11PM GMT - West Papua
Friday October 16th @ 11PM GMT - Oktoberfest
Next 2-part event will be Fri Nov 6th & Sat Nov 7th
We’ll post more info in the forums closer to the dates. You can also join the Discord to meet and fly with others throughout the week. -> https://discord.gg/r5tmFRs
