Landing and Taxi Guides

I thought we could turn Landing and Taxi Guides on and off from the Flight Assistant menu. For me they are always greyed out.
How is that suppose to work?

You have to turn them on from the Assistance Options first.

Took me a minute to figure that one out.

They are greyed out because you have them on in the Options.
If you turn them off in the Options, they will “un-grey”
If you turn them on in the assistant, you automatically get both landing path and taxi ribbon.
If you use the Options you can specify either or both, but it greys out the assistant.

Maybe I don’t understand how this works.
Weather the Assistance Options/Navigation Aids/are turned on or not in the Flight Assistance they are greyed out.

So…I assumed that I could turn them on or off from the Flight Assistance menu but apparently that is not the case.

In airports that I know the taxiways I would leave them off but in airports that I don’t know the taxiways I could turn them on.
Is this not the case??

Well I guess I’ve confirmed my memory is going (or maybe long gone!)
Mine is like yours, it doesn’t matter how I set it, I can’t “un-grey” the assistant.
I was sure I used to be able to though!

I’ve never seen it grayed out like that. I have my landing off and taxi on from the main assistance menu.

I can turn them on from the Assistance Options/Navigation Aids menu but I thought that they gave us the Flight Assistance option so you could easily turn them on and off.
