e.g. under the landing precision it shows 65ft then a figure of 4754, what’s that? same for ground roll & landing smoothness I’m not sure what they are telling me?
Some basic math here, and some speculation, so take it for what it’s worth.
The numbers (4754, 860, and 174) appears to be the “points” you’re awarded for each portion of the landing (how far from the touchdown point, how far off the exact centerline, and how close to zero FPM vertical speed at touchdown).
The total score is (the first number plus the second number) multiplied by the final number. (4754 + 860) x 174 = 976836
However, I’ve never seen a specific criteria for the points for each segment. It doesn’t appear to be linear (i.e. 4754/65 isn’t an even number so they don’t seem to give the same points for each foot, or each foot/FPM is the same value and they just round off the number). If they don’t just round off the numbers, I don’t know if there is some form of geometric progression for the points as you move away from perfect numbers. For example, do the first five feet of landing precision equal 100 points/foot, and the next 10 feet equal 90 points/foot, and the next 15 feet equal 70 point/foot, etc.
Same with the ground roll and smoothness numbers. Without knowing exactly how they get to the points for each criteria (and lots more data points to validate the conclusion), it’s hard to really tell how they get to the exact points awarded for each criteria of the challenge, or it’s just as simple as rounding off the numbers. I haven’t bothered to look at enough data to draw a conclusion…and I probably won’t go look at enough data to figure it out!!
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the reply.
Landing precision I assume means how far away you were from the Blue landing cross placed on the runway during the challenges?
Ground roll sounds like it should be how far you carried on after touch down. i.e how long it took you to stop?
But the symbol on the screen seems to indicate how far you were off the centre line. Either way in my landing I was just about bang on the centre line and there is no way I stopped in 70 ft if that’s what they are suggesting?
Also it gives you no indication as to what is a good value for each category so I have no idea what I should be trying to improve or is reasonably possible to improve.
Haven’t done that almost since release, but according to your screenshot the precision is how far way from the target you touched down concerning runway lenght , and ground roll how far from the centerline you touched down. 70ft is way off, that’s why you’ve got so few points.
All three values should be as close to 0 as possible.
I think ground roll not only includes the touchdown but the maximum deviation (left/right) from the centerline during rollout.
So you not only need to touch down precisely in terms of runway direction (which is the first score) but also need to control the aircraft until you get to a halt. That’s especially challenging on the crosswind landings.
That’s why I was questioning that value as I touched down pretty much bang on the centre line, no way was I 70 feet away from it.
I think it’s about 18 metre width which is about 60 ft so 70 ft from the centre line I would have been off the edge of the runway, which I wasn’t
I missed the blue cross touchdown point so I can believe the figure quoted for that but I was on the centre line and stayed pretty straight until I came to a halt, I’d guess less than 6 ft deviation.
Oh well it’s not that important, was just curious
