Launched MSFS...the launcher showed an update...then closed and redirects to gaming services

So I started up FS and the launcher showed an update was available…after a minute or two of doing nothing, it closed. Sim never launched…

Launched the sim again, and now, I get redirected to the MS store page for gaming services??? Can’t launch the sim at all now…

I posted earlier about the exact same issue. I have tried everything short of a re-install. Hope we get some answers soon!

I thought maybe it corrupted my shortcut so I went though the start menu, launched it from there and the same thing…opens the store to the gaming services…which I do have installed…I really hope an update won’t make me have to do a reinstall…

Experiencing the same issue. What a bummer.

Same experience here in San Francisco. I keep looking for a small update to show up in the MS Store - so far no luck. I tried launching the Sim from the shortcut and via MS Store in the hope that somehow I already have the initial patch downloaded. The Sim starts, gets as far as the third intro page, freezes and then CTD.

It seems to have been fixed, by going into apps and repairing and resetting Gaming Services. Hope this helps y’all.

Didn’t help me . . . “This app can’t open”.

Not for me…repaired gaming services and still the same problem. Launch MSFS and it just opens the window store to the gaming services page…

Hello,

Is this topic similar to your issue? "This app can't open"

Nada…I’m not getting any error message when trying to launch FS…When I launch FS, it just launches the store app, to the gaming services page. So far, I’ve tried repairing and resetting gaming services, uninstalled and reinstalled gaming services and still the same problem…When launching FS, it just loads up the store to the gaming services app page…

I guess I’ll have to uninstall and reinstall at this point…

I wish…I did repair and reset on gaming services but still no go…I tried a repair on FS itself and that didn’t do anything. Finally resorted to a reset on FS which requires a full reinstall…After about two hours of downloading, I’m back up and running now…

Just what I was trying to avoid . . . a reinstall! But after trying everything mentioned and then some, it may be my only out. Think I’ll wait until morning and check the forums once again before starting it. :sob:

this is madness . Same here . There was a windows update fixing some update issues for microsoft software , after that , game does not start , just shows xbox game app

fixed my issue with the repair function . ( in xbox app ) I think the repair actually downloads the update that failed originally .

I tried that but it wants to reinstall the the whole sim , will leave it till tomorrow or uninstall and reinstall aaargh

Finally decided the only option was to uninstall and reinstall. Uninstalled just fine. When I try to reinstall, I just get a message “something went wrong” and it won’t let me retry. I ran sfc and found no problems. I have restarted the PC several times as well. Just about to give up!!!

Getting error code 0x803FB107 whenever I try to install from MS Store. Did a reset (twice) on the Store app, but that had no effect. Haven’t been able to fly in two days now – getting withdrawal pains. Any ideas?
