LEAR 35A Steering Lock binding?

Is there a key assignment for the Steering lock button in the Lear 35A? Every time you get ready to take off or land, this button needs to be pushed. Having to do that via the cockpit view and mouse is troublesome. Was looking for that button to assign to a keypad/controller button, but all the choices I saw for Steering did not work. Since this is 3rd party there may not be an option. Wanted to check.

From memory TOGGLE TAIL HOOK HANDLE or something like that.

I used SPAD to automatically enable steering once ground speed reduced below a certain speed.

You can use TOGGLE TAIL HOOK HANDLE for the steer lock button in the pedestal but that is only part of the system.

I recommend you to also map GLIMITERON and GLIMITEROFF to the SAME button on your hardware, one on press and the other on release. This will act as the red button on the yoke, while you keep it pressed on the ground you will have steer lock on. For takeoff you want to keep this button pressed until you have rudder authority and then release it. Once in the air this same button works to disconnect the autopilot and YD.

Hope it helps!

Thanks!. Unfortunately I wish I could push the red button on the yolk. For some reason, when I am in the PILOT camera mode, and can see the yolk and red button, my mouse, when placed over ANY button, lights it up but is unable to do any action. Clicking on any switch or button does nothing. If I toggle over to my instrument camera, then I can activate any switch. But- in that view, the yolk disappears. Need to figure out why the mouse- in pilot camera mode, won’t work. There is a binding I am missing and I can’t find it.

You are on Xbox? When using the controller optimized settings you can manipulate the buttoms while they are illuminated via A/B on the gamepad. May prevent you to use the mouse properly. I have switch that off in the control settings since using a mouse. Not sure anymore how it is called, someting like “control lock mode ??” maybe.

You don’t need to push it with the mouse.
You can go to the bindings and map one of the buttons on your controller to “G LIMITER ON”, then bind the SAME button to “G LIMITER OFF” (you will see you can bind the same button to two actions). Then change the G LIMITER OFF activation from “on press” to “on release”. The result is that while you keep the button pressed in your controller you will have the steering lock active and when you release the button you will have the steering inactive.
