The Syllabus is designed for beginners using the Cabri G2 from real flight manuals for all the lessons. The skills learned here can be adapted to more complex helicopters after graduation.
Day 1: February 28th
a: Light on the Skids - Finding that point where vertical lift happens.
b. Hovering - Learn to manage a stable hover mere feet off the ground, then at any altitude.
c. Moving forward - very different than managing a fixed wing airplane.
d. Stopping to hover - How to stop without losing altitude and without overshooting your target area.
e. Descending and Landing - Using proper techniques to land gently on the ground where you want to land.

Day 2: March 7th - No pedal or cyclic assist from the sim.
a. Exact airspeed travel - Nailing exact airspeeds while maintaining altitude and direction.
b. Exact climb and descents - Nailing exact fpm climbs and descents properly to exact altitudes.
c. Stops and starts - Getting better control of your helicopter.
d. Turning at Cruise - exact airspeeds while changing direction and nailing headings.
e. Shutdown - when to disengage clutch, use the rotor brake.

Day 3: March 14th
a. Startup from Cold and Dark.
b. Autorotation - How to “glide” land a helicopter without an engine and walk away.
c. Other helicopters - The payware Mini-500 by GotFriends and the Bell 206 introductions.
d. Group Fly - A planned group flight with all students (not too far) encompassing all skills learned.
e. Wrap-up and Q & A

All registered student participants get a certificate of completion for their hard work and accomplishments.
All Tuesday lessons are streamed on the twitch channel: Twitch and will be post produced into a three part YouTube series.
