Light sources shining through cockpit on extra render windows

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Light sources have gone from working normally and equally across main window and additional render windows to now having a bug on the extra render windows in SU3. The lights are no longer blocked by solid cockpit structures on the additional screens. But the problem only occurs on the extra windows.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?
No

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
Yes

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Consistently at night

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Add an extra rendering window (fx on a triple screen setup like mine)
  2. Spawn at an airport at night
  3. Observe lights shining through solid walls on the other rendering windows

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using, if relevant:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
No

[PC Only] Many issues may be due to an outdated graphics card. Please state your Graphics Card Driver Manufacturer (NVIDIA, Intel, AMD) and Version:
AMD RX 9070 with newest driver 25.5.1 (which explains the other artifacts seen with the night lighting due to the issue introduced and not fixed in SU2 - Weird graphical artifacts around cockpit at night on AMD RX 9000 Series GPUs but not having lights shining through which was previously not present on SU2 beta or release)

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

Observe the landing lights and beacons shining through solid walls on the rightmost render window but then being occluded when the view is moved such that they are on the central main render window.
(Also I randomly selected the 787 for the demo, and it seems the bounding box for the cockpit does not keep the camera inside like on other planes)

Trying out some addons, it is clear that the problem can become even more annoying when devs have used other more dramatic light effects. that can suddenly shine through the cockpit:

Can you replicate the issue without using multi-window ?
Some users reported the same issue (so far with 3rd party aircraft) but did not mentioned multi-windows:
Aircraft lights showing through your aircraft walls (red green and white (including strobe)
[REGRESSION] Lights bleeding into cockpit

Thanks for relaying my post, I’ve added the info there too now. I don’t use multi-window, I do use instruments popup though.

Personally I went back to SU2 to try out the 777F in 2024, so not currently able to test other configs. Will test further if needed, once I’m back in SU3 beta.

Thank you for the bug report.

We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.

Rejoined the SU3 beta and just want to confirm that the issue is now fixed for me. Great to see it quickly fixed.
