Asobo thinks that Lightning issue is a Hoax, Fake News.
We now have the third most votes in the forumsā¦this is ridiculous that their only response has been āwe donāt see it on our sideā again, just give us the option to disable the lightning, does not add much to the sim anyway in my opinion

Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I heard the chap in the Q&A session say theyāre not seeing the lightning problem. Itās been constant for me since the Japan Update, flying across Africa, Asia and now down Indonesia to Australia - if there are any clouds at all in the sky, there will be at least some thunder rumbling about. A patch of scattered cumulous? lightning bolts stretching halfway across the heavens.
Itās got to the point where when the flight loads, it gets to those panning camera shots with the āready to flyā prompt, and I hear thunder within two seconds, I have a little chuckle to myself.
Itās a shame because apart from that and some insane temperatures in the Himalayas (40 degrees at 12,000 feet?) the live weather is absolutely brilliant over longer flights.

Same here, and been following that exact route.
Iām currently in pretty much the center of Australia (Ayers Rock and Alice Springs area). Been having almost clear skies with the additional thunder and lightning. This has been a steadfast companion since somewhere in northern India.
Canāt remember what patch it was, but I think I installed the patch before the Japan update around that time. It took a while for it to sink in as a bug, as I was also having a lot of clouds in the same area. But the thunder have not stopped at all since.

England, Africa and Australia all the same lightning issues last night in my three short flights, with live Weather and according to 3 different real weather stations there was ZERO possibility of lightning in the areas i flew in, one of which being my home area so i already knew what the real weather was!

Iāve turned my sound so low now that I can only hear the stall warning beep. The constant thunder every single day got very annoying. Itās still annoying at night time with the bright flashes leaving a dithered mess of white dots behind couple times per minute. Today another 6 hours of lightning.

I hope when they fix this bug they also improve the lightning visuals. Iām tired of seeing 1s long flashes.

A few people have reported this. It is very odd to be in fine weather with loud thunder and lightning goin off, lol.

I am still having the same issueā¦ thunders in clear weather. Very loud as well. If a thunderstorm is in the vicinity, you might hear the thunder in the distance but the sound that makes it fells like it is just above youā¦ and also, the lightning is so strong that illuminates the aircraft even in clear sunny conditions. How can that be? Very unrealistic.
I have purchased REX Weather Force and it is more realitic.

also after patch 5 there is still lightnings and thunders with clear skies (live weather)

Same in Nice, lightning in nice weather..
Okay 1-2 weeks ago I wrote that I had never encountered this problem but this has changed. I now have lightning on almost every flight, also when thereās only few clouds. I think it started with the last patch. This is really annoying. Voted.
Same for me. Last few days (like a week cause Iām back in the game recently)ā¦ lightning everywhere. I flew around Nice, Franceā¦ lightning storms (I live here ffs). Flew around Monument Valley USā¦ Lightning storms with few cloudsā¦ Flew over Hawaiiā¦ sameā¦ Flew over Romaniaā¦ sameā¦ WTF?
It scary that in the live stream they completely down played itā¦ a problem has close to zero chances of being solved if is not acknowledged!
Asobo guys should be more profesional on livestreams and never dismiss reported problems as being absurd or unreal. If they donāt believe itās true and theyāve checked it quickly at the coffee in the morning they should simply refrain from talking it down.
Say: āWe will keep looking into it, for now we have no informationā.
Otherwise it could be a real big problem and they will simply look stupid.
