Why are people policing this forum like this? Get a life
Iām getting lightning almost out of the blue too. Just a few scattered semi-cumulus clouds, and it can be āstorming.ā Still havenāt seen a cumulonimbus cloud.
This was the last straw for me. Flying in perfectly clear skies with lightning and thunder all around does not only make MSFS a bad " simulation " , it makes it a bad game.
I know they are more concerned about getting this game ready for the new XBox release rather than fixing the bugs for PC users, but this is indeed ridiculous.
Back to X-Plane for meā¦will check back in a few months , or so , to see if theyāve gotten their S### together.

So the lightning is enough to make you go back to x-planes 2d billboard clouds and bad lighting? When you have shadows in the cockpit under heavy overcast skies I think you will be back 
I was kind of in the same boat. I had no issues with MSFS but the lightning thing has really tested my patience since it is such obvious bug. I fired up my P3D 4.5 for the 1st time since Aug and in about 10 secs went back to MSFS lol. Itās crazy how bad it looks now in comparison
Iām also in the boat. At one point I re-installed FSX and all my payware mods. But still havenāt finished a flight. While I miss some of my payware planes the scenery is just hard to beat with MSFS2020. Itās like having payware for the entire world. Also FSX would crash if I looked at it funny. Still there is areas to improve and some odd things (green roads) but Iām not sure I could really go back. Iād fire up DCS instead.
Seems like they crank up some of these elements like lightning so we know they added it. But then itās like yeah we got it you added lightning I donāt need it with blue skies too.
Yep agree , thunderstorms are now appearing from high level cirrus clouds , the most bizarre thing ive seen.
The lightening seems to have gone for me??

So Iāve not seen thunder / lightening today at all. Flown Heathrow to Amsterdam and back and Madrid to Heathrow and back. Lots of clouds but no lightening.
I hope we can get rid of the thunder and lightning during nice weather in the next update. So far it looks like MS/Asobo are still investigating why itās happening as of the 10/22 update.
