[LIST] Got Friends: Development Hangar

THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!

Can you believe it? The moment we’ve all been waiting for is almost here! Tomorrow marks an unforgettable milestone, not just for us, but for every aviation enthusiast out there. Where do I even start? This past year has been nothing short of extraordinary—chaotic, thrilling, and deeply rewarding.

In just under 11 months, we’ve achieved what once felt impossible: building five aircraft from scratch. Five! And now, as this chapter comes to a close, a brand-new beginning awaits. I’m overwhelmed with emotion—excitement, gratitude, and anticipation.

Tomorrow, the world gets to experience the new digital twin of Earth in Microsoft Flight Simulator. And what a masterpiece it is! The world has never looked so breathtaking. I can’t wait to see all of you take to the skies, charting your own paths, exploring new horizons, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

But for us, the thrill isn’t just about the sim—it’s about the heart and soul we poured into this journey. Tomorrow, you’ll finally get to experience Mike’s Draco X, Zlin’s Savage Norden, Stemme’s S12-G, AeroElvira’s Optica, and Pipistrel’s Taurus M. Knowing that these aircraft, our passion projects, will soon be in the hands of millions of simmers worldwide is beyond words. It’s surreal, humbling, and exhilarating all at once.

I want to take a moment to thank the incredible people who made this possible: The entire team at Microsoft, Got Gravel, Mykrode, twoseventyinc, Rotornut44, Ian Lewis, OohCando, WestcoastWilly, Dreadnaut, Eight of Dragons, and Mitchell. You guys have been nothing short of phenomenal. We’re at the finish line now, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I expect nothing less than celebration, cold beer, and at least three days of solid sleep after this! These aircraft are the best work we’ve ever done as a team, and I’m honored to have shared this journey with such talented and dedicated individuals.

To everyone else—this launch is for you. Dive in, explore, and let your imaginations take flight. Share your reviews, videos, photos, adventures, and yes, even your funny moments. Together, let’s make this launch something truly unforgettable.

As we celebrate this milestone and embrace new beginnings, we’re thrilled to share Mike Patey’s latest video. His journey has been a profound source of inspiration for all of us at Got Friends. If you haven’t seen his latest update, we highly recommend watching it:

Additionally, you have a unique opportunity to support Mike’s endeavors by purchasing a rare piece of Draco—a tangible fragment of aviation history. Owning a real piece of Draco is a rare opportunity that you won’t want to miss. To acquire a piece of Draco, visit his official website:

Let’s continue to support and celebrate his passion and innovation that drive our aviation community forward.

It’s time… Here’s to the future—to bush flying, gliding, general aviation, and the endless possibilities beyond. And remember: you’ve always Got Friends. :airplane:

If I hadn’t bought a Virpil button box yesterday, I’d grab a plane tag. I hope they fund plenty of discovery flights!

Thank you for Today!

Cheers to our amazing Community…

One of my first flights on 2024 was to test if the Draco has that “alive” feeling your 2020 add-ons have. It does. Great work!

I’m so glad there’s people having a way better experience than what it would seem like is possible from the discussion forum!

Is the Wilga, and other aircraft you have with other variants, going to be updated to use the variants section of the new aircraft selector in MSFS2024?

Not at this time, that requires a full modular project rebuild. That will be reserved for the Native Upgrade in the future.

Thanks to the latest Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 official update, several core fallback issues have been resolved. That’s great news, I was very saddened by your official statement listing the Vertigo and the Savages/Cubs as not forwards compatible.

As I have not uninstalled MSFS2020, I wanted to ask whether the new 1.0.3 versions are also good for FS2020.

I flew the Vertigo 1.03 for (G3X Livery Version and not with GTN750) some time in MSFS 2020 yesterday and didn’t notice any failures. I had some issues with flightplans in MSFS 2024 with the new Vertigo, but thats something else.
AFAIK it’s a version for MSFS 2020 mainly with some combatibilty for MSFS 2024.

Got-Friends Changelog for Vertigo 1.03 says:
. Additional Adjustments for Initial MSFS 2024 Forwards Compatibility

The GeeBee has some weird thing for me in 2024 where it loads 3(or 4) different livery versions as individual aircraft. I had to blank folder it in community for the time being.

I haven’t tried just dumping the entire aircraft into the 2024 community folder yet, kind of waiting for them to sort out MP/ownership management. I did a couple other aircraft and it worked much better as an ‘installed’ aircraft than streamed.

I have two versions of the Gee Bee (Granville Brothers) Super Sportster in my library, the Model Z and the Model R-2.
There were 3 models of the Super Sportser, the Z, the Model R-1, and the Model R-2. These planes are different models in the sim because they’re, well, different models. The Granville Brothers are famous for those 3, but designed a bunch more planes right here in Springfield, Massachusetts, from 1929 until they went bankrupt in 1934.

Unfortunately, I hate that the default liveries for the planes are the Aviator Liveries, even though their historic liveries are available.

I hope we’re able to delete all those aviator and flight simulator liveries.

i have the current version 2.08 GeeBee R3 Special from Got-Friends Website installed in my community folder. I see only one GeeBee plane with several liveries in the aircraft selection. Smoke effects are not working in MSFS2024, but the rest of the plane works quite well in MSFS2024 without obvious failures.

I’m finding myself doing more and more hard installs in the community folder and empty folders to clear out the flotsam unused aircraft like the spruce goose.

I’ve not found an answer to this anywhere yet but, why are the Got Friends addons in MSFS 2024 not able to fly without a co pilot? You can disable them from all of the default aircraft but not those made by Got Friends. Am I missing something or is this a bug?
