[LIST] Got Friends: Development Hangar

Is there going to be modeled engine damage? I remember hearing about it before, but I didn’t see it in the list of features.

Carb Heat Management and RPM Effects including Icing, but no full blown failures unless you have a propeller strike. That said, realism is still at play here and there is plenty of ways to kill your engine. Just not bolts flying out and destroying your engine!

We can explore that in a future update for sure, but for now, only that extensive feature list is what we have planned for release on day one.

Cheers!

Thanks for explaining!

Seems like engine simulation will be on the level of wilga, nowhere near black square on a2a fidelity.

I’d much rather have a canoe strapped to the float struts so I could explore rivers and coastlines than tons of engine simulation.

That’s far more “interactive” and user friendly than watching my engines failing on a tablet.
There are plenty of aircraft that do that but none with a usable canoe.

ANNOUNCEMENT | AVITARS
The Last Headache has been Resolved…

After 18 months of reverse engineering, decompiling, and fighting a completely undocumented system… Kilo is finally back as a Native 2024 Copilot! Welcome home, buddy. :service_dog:

“Avitars” are Officially Coming Soon for MSFS 2024 to PC & Xbox Series X|S

thats awesome! could you add some rescue and military outfits for the co-pilot?!

I have always loved your products and would love to see an option for the military pilot having a white helmet. I would also like to see the same for a copilot as our options have been so limited in regards to avatars. I sill have a big problem with avatars not showing in so many models by Asobo and third parties when using popular addons regarding formation flight. For me it is a must to be able to see someone piloting an aircraft in flight, short of it being a drone.

It’s really, really hard to kill a Continental C-85 and its ilk. Like, you have to forget to change the oil. It’s not like a radial engine where you can push the manifold pressure beyond its limits. You can run these full throttle all day and they don’t care. It’s better no too, but you can.

I was asking because they’ve already modeled some engine damage features on other planes, so it wouldn’t take as much time, giving them more time for other features. Theres no need to put my request down when we can request both. I think the canoe idea sounds cool too.

Has any developer tried something like that, where your camera becomes attached to a separate, controllable, moving, object? I know there are planes that drop bombs or separate parts like the space shuttle carrier, but the “separate” parts usually remain attached to the plane’s motion. Having the plane remain stationary while the camera switches to a new, moving viewpoint sounds new to me.

I did not mean to put your idea down, I was just expressing my preference.
Yes there is room for both for sure.
I like the separate camera or video camera idea that captures your journey in sim on a moveable object though.

I was mostly wondering about prop strikes and carb heat, the more common things that people were already talking about

I am super excited by this and I’ll happily take Kilo for a flight, but I gotta be THAT GUY: Hopefully cats too?

Just doesn’t have the same ring to it. My cat would claw me to death from fear.

Glad you asked lol

My cat likes to sit on my knee while I’m cruising, can blame her if things go wrong then

Which is why Got Friends aircraft all come equipped with seatbelts…

You know flight simming as a hobby is in a good place when we can have cats and dogs in the copilot seat. My feline copilot has been gone a few years now. I miss him making me pet him in between making directional inputs.

Blondi used to go flying when a puppy, then she got too big, head hit top of canopy.

Get a seat specially made for her which could be easily swapped in or out for a passenger

…need…more…info…! :grimacing:
