A few of the tops devs like Cows and Blacksquare have had issues with slow updates to MP recently.
Personally i only care about top rated aircraft from devs like that so it’s still an issue.
The aircraft.cfg file cannot be edited to remove pushback tug and other ground services enabled default.
I only see drawbacks with this decision. I have no interest at all for any career or gameification stuff in the sim.
Any delays on a MP release are typically either because the creator has not tested or approved it, or because it requires additional WASM ingestion, which I believe only happens once a week.
Issues which generally come down to their choice to develop outside of the SDK or not follow the Marketplace ingestion procedures correctly.
Correct, which the more “study level” or feature rich aircraft has. So no go with GF aircraft in the future for me.
That’s your choice to miss out on great aircraft on a principled stand then, I guess. I’ll continue to enjoy them the same way I always have.
Yes, as I said, almost always at the fault of the developer, not the system itself.
It’s not a fault of the dev imo that they need to do code outside to get more realistic features. It’s a sim problem.

If the system has hurdles that block updates for aircraft that work perfectly outside of the Marketplace and that no other shop system has, how is that not the system’s fault?
All I’m saying is that when used correctly, it works well. It’s a developer’s choice to learn how to use it.
I’m not an expert on the subject matter so I’ll defer to those that are, but I have multiple “improvement” mods for marketplace products that affect things like lighting, cockpit textures, avionics, and more.
Genuinely unsure if that’s the case because those types of changes are permitted and the ones you’re referring to are not, or if the system is less restrictive than you’re aware.

I’m not really a fan of marketplace exclusive content myself but I assume they do it for DRM reasons. Having said that I’m really excited for the Taylorcraft and it will be a day one buy from me.
Yeah, same here. Just like with Taog’s helicopters. But I will do so with the proverbial sour taste in my mouth.
For 3rd-party FS2024 planes that are only on the FS2024 markerplace and sold nowhwere else? Could you give an example?
The 2024 Asobo/Working Title 787-10 and the Microsoft/ATSimulations Antonov An-2 both have improvement mods on flightsim.to, off the top of my head. There are also avionics improvement mods for default avionics packages there as well. Oh, and a few different windscreen color modifications for Marketplace-exclusive Carenado products. These are just what come to mind quickly, though.
It’s all about the console market… that is where the money is. I am sure MS made them a pretty sweet offer to go to the marketplace only. Oh well. It is disappointing… most just sad that the Taylorcraft will be delayed…
Mmm, somewhat interesting but apparently someone doesn’t want any acknowledgement of how some modders might have come to understand the inner workings of encrypted FS2020 planes, which makes discussing this topic rather difficult. In any case, I’d like to find an example of an FS2024-only marketplace-only plane with mods. (I do believe liveries are unencrypted, at least?)
I recently found out that if you bought FS2024 on Steam, Marketplace purchases appear to be tied to the Steam account and not the MS/Xbox account.
My Microsoft account was compromised a few months ago, but when I logged into FS24 with a new account, all of my previous purchases, settings, and career mode had carried over.
That said, Marketplace is still terrible.
I’ve been able to make a few mods for encrypted premium/marketplace planes such as the Carenado 210 but I could see nothing, it relies on the plane being set up properly for merge modding, and takes a lot of guesswork. It is far from ideal
