Great video Jonx, very helpful tips. Thanks
Not to flog a dead horse but I have to agree i prefer to purchase not in the market place but instead at the webstore. For a start there always seems to be a price disparity where the market place is always a higher price. However i think GF have made some incredible mods my favourite being the F4F an forgotten aircraft like the Hurricane without them the world would have been different, so i appreciate the work that has been put in. I do hope that future projects change my mind about the market purchasing but i fell into this problem with 2020 were half of my market place mods have been disabled by MS. I don’t want the same scenario with 2024.
AS 33 Me | Official 2024 Update Released
MSFS 2024 Package Update Only | v1.0.7.
A Special Gift for Non-Wilga Series Owners
Changelog (v1.0.7.):
- Added missing Marketplace files for the included PZL-104 Wilga Towplane (Wilga 35T / G-BUNC)
- Fixed a texture JSON issue affecting the CyberWinch and F-150 ground vehicles
- Improved MSFS 2024 Aerotow with Wilga 35T Including initial Slack Pull and Faster Take-Off
- Fixed Spoilers and Brakes on Runway Spawn (Now they Spawn Off with 0% Spoilers)
- Adjusted the camera to prevent the FLARM highlight from conflicting with Xbox and PlayStation controls
- Improved MSFS 2024 Multiplayer Aerotow between AS 33 Me (User #1) and Wilga 35T (User #2) using Direct Aircraft Scanning
Wilga 35T (Towplane) Information:
The AS 33 Me 2024 Upgrade now includes a Fully Functional Wilga 35A (G-BUNC) variant.
- To avoid confusion for existing Wilga Series owners, this aircraft has been renamed the Wilga 35T (Towplane).
- It can be flown as a standalone aircraft and retains all original Wilga 35A (G-BUNC) functionality.
The primary goal of this inclusion is to bring a small taste of the Wilga to PlayStation 5 included with the release of the AS 33 Me. More Importantly, due to a bug in MSFS 2024, this replaces the old inoperative Wilga shown in the Aircraft Selection Menu with a fully usable Wilga 35T.
The Wilga 35T includes:
- One Aircraft Variant: PZL-104 Wilga 35T (Towplane)
- One Livery: G-BUNC
- One Dashboard Configuration: GTR 225 Radio, GTX 330 Transponder, ARL-1601 ADF System, EFB (2024), No Autopilot or Flight Director
- Native 2024 Character Support Upgrade + Passenger Compatibility using EFB
- Native 2024 LOD Upgrades for Long Distance Interior Viewing
- Native 2024 Tooltip Adjustments for % Sliders
- Native 2024 Smoke VFX for Optimized FPS
- Native 2024 Clipboard Update with Defined Pre-Flight Section
- Native 2024 EFB Compatibility with In-Cockpit Tablet
- Native 2024 AutoStart & AutoStop Functionality for Console Use
- Native 2024 Thumbnails for Aircraft Selection Menu
- It is Located under the Glider Section due to an MSFS 2024 limitation involving the AS 33 Me in the Aircraft Selection Menu
This update is being added to the PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5 versions of the AS 33 Me. Marketplace updates have been submitted, and Version 1.0.7 will be released by Microsoft and Sony once approved. Contrail update has also been submitted and should become available to update in the next 1-2 days.
The Key Takeaways:
- Every AS 33 Me purchase for MSFS 2024 now includes a free, fully flyable Wilga 35A (G-BUNC) variant, listed in the simulator as the Wilga 35T (Towplane).
- The minor Native 2024 upgrades included with the Wilga 35T will also be added to our existing Wilga 35/80 Series in an upcoming future update.
- At this time, the AS 33 Me update is being prioritized due to its critical Marketplace requirements on the PlayStation 5.
We recognize that our decision to make future releases Marketplace Exclusive has been a difficult announcement for some members of our community. We hope that including this fully flyable Wilga variant with our flagship glider gives something back to the community and makes the transition ahead a little easier.
As always, we appreciate all the support you continue to give our small team.
Cheers,
- Got Friends
Will the “full” Wilga package receive more than “minor” native 2024 upgrades at some point after that (primarily looking for Career support), or is that likely going to be the Wilga’s final state?
Not the Final State.
Once we have some breathing room between new releases and some additional overhead, we plan on fully upgrading the Wilga 35/80 Series to Native MSFS 2024. That way, it will take full advantage of everything the new simulator has to offer, including specialized careers.
Fantastic news, as always - thanks Jonx!
Is the Taylor releasing today ? I read somewhere July 31st
Change of plans, read Jonx’s post from a few days ago. It’s releasing sometime mid-August now.
Oh ok , darn it
Thanks for heads up
AS 33 Me | Website Package Apology
We owe our Website customers a quick apology.
During the latest AS 33 Me update, we accidentally uploaded the Marketplace build to our Website. Marketplace packages require uncompressed mipmap textures for ingestion, which significantly inflated the unzipped package size compared to the properly compressed Website version.
There is nothing wrong with the aircraft or its textures. The package was simply much larger than it needed to be because we uploaded the wrong build.
Version 1.0.7 has now been correctly re-uploaded to the Website and is available for download. We highly recommend deleting your existing Version 1.0.7 package and downloading it again if you installed the update earlier today.
The original package will still work perfectly fine, but the corrected build reduces the installed size by nearly 6GB. Of course, if you enjoy dragging an unnecessary 10GB package around with you, the original version will continue working just fine.
Special thanks to @MortThe2nd and @pequenyo0 for bringing this to my attention today. It took more troubleshooting than I care to admit, but ultimately @Rotornut44 pointing me towards the right direction on the Marketplace/Community mis-match.
If you know anything about Got Friends, you already know we love creating highly detailed aircraft almost as much as we love accidentally pressing the wrong backend button during updates.
We apologize for the unnecessary download size and any storage space, bandwidth, or confusion this caused. Thank you for your patience while we clean up our latest contribution to the update blooper reel.
that’s awesome!
So, I’m guessing that, in order to prevent ASPCA members from having a heart attack, you’ll soon be releasing:
Man’s Best Friend: Deluxe Edition {with sealtbelts}
Correct? ![]()
Will this be a free update for the native 2024 Wilga? ![]()
Why the vitriol? That’s not a great way to get the developer want to look at the issue. Which in this case could be an Asobo implementation anyway.
Hi all… 10 days to wait…
It will be hard ^^
Thanks to GotFriends for the great work, got the Wilga and i think it’s one of the best aircraft of the game, so amazingly realised. The Taylorcraft is a plane i’m looking for, can’t wait ^^
Are the fuzzy dice study level? And do they take advantage of 24’s CFD system?
Will this only be valid for those who bought the Wilga from the marketplace? What about those who bought it from your website?
