Someone somewhere made a good point that the preflight walkaround should actually begin in the cockpit, as it does in real life. Changing the fuel selector to BOTH is one of the last steps of the interior preflight checklist, just before you go out to do the exterior “walkaround.”
Changing the fuel selector to left or right is the last step in the shutdown checklist, just before the post flight/securing checklist. So it’s not completely wrong to find it that way, but the fact we’re skipping steps at the top (and it isn’t mentioned anywhere) is causing the issue.
After reading your post I decided to try to follow the pink flight path lines that are on the radars instead of following the blue boxes. For some reason the blue boxes are slightlhy off from my flight path. After following the pink lines I ended a 2h cargo flight with 125% airline procedure score.
Thanks so much for this list. I’m pretty much at the beginning of my career but I’ve encountered the flap-speed penalty multiple times… While stationary and during takeoff on pretty much every single plane I’ve flown so far. And I also get 0% for being too slow in skydiving… So I guess I’ll skip the ascend next time…
I have had some really weird ones: penalised for crossing a rwy after receiving clearance to cross runway, many many ctd’s when interacting with the 172 G1000.. and the really cherry on the cake was landing on a strip for a cargo mission in Madagascar and being told I’d not landed ON the runway (it is an unmarked strip)
I am sorry to break it to you but I only had 2 CTD in career mode over 40 hours this week. I am sure they were server related. The game is very stable as far as I can see. maybe you have issue on your side ?
Airline Procedure has nothing to do with the blue boxes. It’s purely radio comms to the ATC / Tower when you need to. That’s it. It even says so on the help screen.
You can completely disregard the flight path and autopilot all the way to the airport if you want to. As long as you hit the correct comms you will still get 100%.
i went from lv 54 to 90 in a single charter mission.. even w/ vip charters unlocked, they seem to only pop up once a day and disappear. sometimes they’ll have 3000+nm flights set on skyhawk
Following the checklist in the EFB will catch this, but is there even anything in the game that teaches players to use that? The recycled flight training from 2020 is…not the best…
Yeah it probably should be; the whole point of auto-start is so you don’t have to follow the checklist. (Be nice if it armed the standby battery too.)
But then, I’ve heard people say that using alt-N to skip removing covers/chocks doesn’t remove the pitot cover on some planes, so I guess it’s another oversight like that.
Wait, what help screen are you talking about? There’s an “aviator performance details” help screen, but that only explains the items that appear in the aviator performance box in the lower left, not things like airline procedures that appear in the upper box. Am I missing another help screen somewhere? (Although it’d be strange if they’re evaluating the same radio calls in two different sections.)
It is very possible and I’ve done a lot of money in game with the 172 for skydiving. just make sure you climb at Vx adjusting the mixture for max power.
