Brief description of the issue:

(OK let’s try here instead:)

Ok, so after flying the Pelican religously for couple of weeks now, I’ve observed a couple of things I wish to be fixed or looked at:

  • Pelican’s tendencies to want to shoot off to space. I know it’s a “space ship”, but this is getting ridiculous. Especially after swapping from Hover to Cruise, airspeed jumps up and keeps going up even if I set cruise speed to say, 200, I need to “catch up” for it to lock on to the set airspeed, often waay over the initial set airspeed, THEN I can set it back down to 200. By that time, altitude is in the 10k’s.
  • Weird thruster usage. Hover AND propulsion thrusters used in hover, ONLY hover thrusters used in cruise. Shouldn’t it be the other way around?
  • OFFICIAL Ability to follow a NAV flight route like any other plane with this ability (I know of the “nav1 hold” button bind, but it’s unstable and no cockpit button to indicate that it’s active or not)
  • While NAV Hold is active, the wobble is real. (Probably why it’s not official). It tends to ping-pong from side to side, until it gets too far off, then overcompensate, goes over the centerline, and to the other extreme, corrects itself, rinse and repeat.
  • It seems stuck to the ground when it lands. When I take off, I get a bump and I skyrocket for a second. I cannot for the life of me perform a smooth take off

Are there any plans to revisit and revamp the Pelican?

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Hover. When I add thrust, the thrusters come on, so a bit different than what I described, but still, the thrusters should be on in hover mode.

In Cruise. Well, now nothing is showing, which is even worse than what I described.

NAV Hold. 2 seconds after taking this screenshot, it turned left to get back on track again.

NAV Hold take 2. In the midst of turning back right. Rinse and repeat for the rest of the trip.

Notice the altitude. Headed to space, even if airspeed is good and altitude is set.

Hi,
Please, one bug per bug report only. I’ve moved this to Community Support.

Well, I thought rather than 5 or 6 threads, I’d have 1 thread listing the bugs as neatly as possible… But fair enough, I’ll make 1 thread pr bug then

Sorry. They go through a process where the QA team looks at them and if they get fixed, we mark them resolved. But if it’s 6 bugs in one report, then it makes that process very difficult.

Additionally, multiple bugs in one thread makes it difficult to merge duplicates.

Gotcha. Thanks for keeping the forums clean

The Flight Dynamics of the Pelican itself need to be updated heavily. As a Halo nerd, even I know the Pelican doesn’t fly this horribly.

It is indeed what I’m trying to do  Once I get home from work I will fire up MSFS, get some real testing done, videos, screengrabs, post a few threads and see how that works.
