Live Weather Does Not Match

Yes me too  It was like fresh air  Made me think outside of the box and use forecast to plan my flights instead. And many times i stopped and looked how amazing the weather was. I wondered how that was possible to have in a sim. Felt so real. No transitions anymore that i focused so much to get rid of in those older sims. Now we have them back and can’t do anything to get rid of. Only complain about them “again”. We have even complained since METAR wind got in soon after release with sudden transitions in windspeed. That shouldn’t be the case if they only used meteoblue data because that is already smoothed out by meteoblue.

I find the sim otherwise unique. I always dreamed that after all these years there would finally be a sequel. I didn’t hesitate for a second to pre-order this thing in the most expensive version. And now all the downgrades are ruining everything for me. A huge disappointment.

Live weather seems to be half-broken at the moment. When I load into the sim I get clear skies, after approx 1 min clouds are injected but wind, temp and pressure are wrong (3kts/227, 20 deg, 29.92)
See below METAR for what should temps and winds etc should be

Getting the same thing at the moment. live weather not injecting temp or pressure.

One expression only for this

It’s been almost a year and a half Asobo. At this point there is zero excuse for breaking something this crucial. The fact that this ist hotfix worthy is beyond me.

Temp, Wind and Pressure still not working, but clouds and precipitation are working very well.
Currently flying from Hervey Bay YHBA to Ballina YBNA, Brisbane getting smashed right now IRL and in MSFS

same for me too, its still not working

Hi,

Unfortunately the same here ! Still 29.92
Asobo any comment???

Same for me yesterday evening (19:00 ZULU // 20:00 LOCAL). Did a flight from LOWI to EKCH, 1013HPA and no Snow at LOWI.

Greets, Markus

Just to keep hammering the point home to Asobo and the devs:

Lovely overcast at Salzburg right now:

What Asobo think is acceptable:

Did you check the Metar for LOWS.
LOWS 081420Z 14005KT 9999 FEW045 BKN060 07/M02 Q1030 NOSIG
It actually (at least in this case) is conforming to the Metar.

So you are satisfied with that?

Wrong representation, from clouds type to coverage…

I never said that. :confounded:
I think we all agree on the weather issues.
That’s why the (at least in this case) is there!!

No problem, I’d personally rather have it like it was pre-SU7 - it did used to give us skies like this.

Im pretty sure in the release notes that they said the new weather system was a work in progress, not the finished product. Give em 6 months and a couple of su and wu’s and if its still in the same sorry mess, start complaining again…

Right now your just beating a dead horse.

Do we have a choice? I would rather use pre su7 weather until they fixed it. But that is not possible. Or have a toggle to switch off METAR to be able to have only one source of weather in the sim. As we could see here above METAR didn’t match those real world webcam either. All the planes can’t land there now because METAR didn’t match. Now they complaining that weather didn’t match METAR over there IRL. They can’t adapt to weather changes. Maybe they need to have METAR bubbles over LOWS too IRL? :man_shrugging: I think we are to used to have the weather match those METAR all the time in flight simulators. The weather should be unpredictable.

The choice right now is that if you dont like it, look up the conditions at the airport and then key them into the weather editor manually. Yeah I know it aint live weather, but you could always look all the conditions along your route, and still add/modify them manually.

Well, i know that is a possibility. Strange that is better than use live-weather though. To me it doesn’t need to be accurate all the time as long as it’s varied and believable. Forecasts makes it varied and believable to me. METAR makes it static/generic & not believable to me.
