Sorry to say this bug persists in the AAU1 Beta (1.30.11.0). Since last weekend, the frequency of losing clouds mid-flight has gradually increased from sporadically to nearly every flight. Nothing I do prevents it from happening, except for the two total flights I’ve randomly had clouds the whole way through, on the same route as the others.
This is also occurring for me on every flight now. Live weather completely stops injecting. Getting a bit frustrating.
Interesting! This is happening to me too I guess! The metar says overcast and I got clear sky!
Just got this happening right now, for the very first time in MONTHS.
At least can Asobo please default a non-clear sky weather to use as placeholders when live weather dies?
I’m having a more weird experience: If I fly from Taiwan to Japan, the weather is fine; the other way round and weather stops injecting when I was transitioning between the “japan zone” and “taiwan zone”. Almost the same spot for two separate times.
And when I reach Taiwan the weather will be partially recovered (low fog is there, but no higher clouds)
Live weather just stopped working here. Clicking on KLAS, says no METAR available. Gimme a flipping g break already with these server issues. Such a joke!
Yup! It is a joke at this point. Been happening since 2021!!
PLEASE VOTE!!
How far are you from KLAS? the metar function in weather panel only works within a certain distance (about the same as the distance where ATIS would get signal)
Also at this point I think this live weather stoppage is more about distance and less about time. I fly between Taiwan and Japan where one way is 100kt+ upwind and the other way is downwind. I noticed that the weather usually stops injecting at a given point, rather than a given time.
For example if I fly from Taiwan to Japan, I can get to Kyushu in an hour, where the weather stops. This is a lot shorter than the “2 hours” some people are suggesting. For the return trip I usually get 2+ hours of normal weather and then see clear skies right outside of Taipei FIR. So yeah it seems that it’s more about distance/region and less about flight duration.
Yet again this bug, it’s completely random. KEWR-KLAX its fine but KLAX-KBOS nope…
Happened to me yesterday. Long haul LEBL-SKBO and live weather stopped injecting clouds over the Atlantic after about 7 hours in. I checked METARS along the way and they weren’t matching up
Winds and haze effects were still there though…
How have Asobo not acknowledged this bug? It’s a MAJOR immersion killer that’s been ongoing since November 2021! Are we raising it through the correct methods? They never replied when I reported it via the “submit a request” area of support. Terrible relations.
They are not gonna care. The only way is to keep voting and hoping for an answer.
Recently I have been running into this game-breaking bug EVERY session…it’s insane. But I am not a developer so what the hell do I know?
This just started happening to me this week, such a bummer. Cant fly on Vatsim since my speed is crazy different than everyone else’s
Again today, after about 2 hours, live weather no longer works. Again, had to restart the sim to get live weather working. Winds and pressure are accurate but clouds and precipitation just stop working.
Can confirm now this occurs on every flight over 2 hours…what is going on? I think something is seriously wrong with the live weather servers.
Going to try a different server and perhaps with VPN to see it mitigates the issue. Someone gotta elevate this somehow so Asobo can fix ASAP. Wouldn’t this be of the highest priority since it completely destroys immersion in the sim??
About 10-15 minutes ago my clouds broke as I’m flying from KLAX to KDCA, about 3 hours 15 minutes into the flight. Its a very intermittent issue, sometimes it doesn’t break for 6 hours or more. And sometimes it breaks after 70 minutes. I suspect its something to do with servers instead of on my side. Theres nothing I did differently and IPv6 was never on.
