Liveries in my Community folder wont show up in game

Yes. That is, I deleted the previously-installed liveries. I did not delete the 3 or 4 scenery addons, which all work fine.

Exact same thing happened to me. I had a few others beside the pack, and they work Ok.
I went and individually downloaded from flightsim.to, the various liveries that were in the pack that I used, and just deleted the pack.

Did that, too. Still no liveries, I give up.

This software remains a hot mess.

Could I see a screen shot of your community folder, with at least one livery in it?
And then an other one of that livery folder?

A screen shot would help us solve your issue

Before the latest update I would place my liveries in my community folder, now after the update none of the liveries appear when I go into my hanger. My file still has the the liveries but none show up in the game or in hanger. I downloaded latest liveries that work for patch 5 however they still don’t show up in the hanger. Just shows the default skin. any suggestions or ideas?

I have tried for hours to upload screenshots to this infernal site. No can do.

We don’t need screen shots from the game, but your folders

I understand that. I have the pix, just can’t get them onto this site. I’ll try again later. Thank you for your efforts.

It seems you have old liveries which are not working, and instead they are conflicting with others.
All the megapack liveries should be named like: Asobo_PLANE_LIVERY.
Delete all the old liveries, and download the latest pack (version 12) from discord AFTER 11/28 12:00 pm.

Thanks, CC40M0. I guess I can wait another day. (Not sure why the “latest pack” isn’t available quite yet; or, if it is not, how anyone else can have gotten liveries that conform to the apparent requirements.)

Since nothing else has worked for me, I am inclined to believe that liveries should be named as you say. But I didn’t write these myself! I downloaded them from Discord.

I have liveries megapack version 11.3, and it is working just fine. But if you’ll wait for the latest one, I’m sure you get it all working
Remember to delete all other liveries from the community folder first.
Scenery and other mods you can keep there.

No dice.

Went to Discord at 1300 today. Downloaded MegaPack12. Extracted all to DL folder, and moved 12 liveries of various planes to my Community folder. They are all named as you indicated: Asobo_plane_livery. Opened the sim. Not a one of them showed up!

Why me ???

Where is your community folder?
Are you pointing it to be somewhere else?
What is that community folder shortcut in your community folder?

I appreciate your diligence.

  1. I believe my Community folder is where it should be: USER\AppData\Local\Packages\FS2020\LocalCache\Packages\Community. Right next to the Official folder. As I have said, it contains several scenery add-ons, which all work fine.

  2. I do not understand your second question. I don’t believe I am pointing it to anywhere. Anyway, the sim seems to be able to find it, else the scenery add-ons would not work.

  3. There is no longer a shortcut of any kind in my Community folder. The one in the old screenshot was moved to my Desktop. That’s where it was this morning when I downloaded MegaPack12.

The only other thing I can think to add is that when I extracted MegaPack, I got several error messages – “Path too long.” I skipped those, and I have plenty of liveries in Community. (Lord knows who needs 600!)

Ok. (767 in pack v12)
One more thing I can say you should try then

Move the zipped Liverypack in to the community folder, and unpack it right there, so you don’t get those too long path errors
Be sure there are no other liveries, only sceneries.
You could try it first with only one livery for a plane you are flying.
I have to say, this might be the only idea I have left.

I downloaded the latest liverypack v12, and for me it’s working fine.

Just 3 follow-up questions:

  1. How can you unpack an unzipped MegaPack in the Community folder? If you unpack the whole ■■■■ thing, you will have 600 liveries in the sim. I can’t believe that would not make loading the sim difficult, plus you’d have over 600 liveries to scroll through when you did open.

  2. You suggest trying it with only one livery as a test. Fine, but how can you extract only one livery out of 600? I thought either you “Extract all” or none.

  3. I notice your new link to the MegaPack does not use Discord. Others in the forums have told me that you MUST use Discord. (But why, I don’t know.)

There are 767 liveries in the megapack v12.
You can double click the zip-file to open it, and then drag and drop one of them in to your community folder.
The link I gave to you is the same one they give you in discord.
Like I said, you can unpack them all, or just one or how many you need

Thanks, but . . .

I did not know you could double-click on a zip file and then choose a couple of liveries to drop into Community (where they apparently unzip themselves). Anyway, I did it. When I opened the sim, I got a hopeful prompt about authorizing a change to my computer from “MS Store Dependency Installer.” And yet . . .
The two liveries I had unzipped (and which appear to be normal in Community) still did not show up in the sim.

You have done all I think you can. Thanks. It seems to me that my problem is not in the download of the MegaPack or of individual liveries from flightsim.to, but in the basic install of MS2020. Perhaps this hot mess of a program will eventually be improved in a year or two.
