This problem only started occurring after the last small update, the problem without doubt is from that. Everything was great until the small update from 12 to 13. Because people were getting the deluxe version whi h they hadn’t purchased, and not a word of explanation from the developers regarding this update. The sim was working great for me with update 12 version, then up pops this small up date and problems ever since. If Asobo would acknowledge this and explain it, and put out a fix , I can live with it . But nothing even an explanation not forth coming . Pretty poor Asobo.

I noticed this also on my PC. Long load times lately, waiting for the plane to actually load up at the airport. Deluxe Premium Steam version.

Perhaps the update removed the content from the sim for those who hadn’t purchased the deluxe version, but caused problems for those who own the deluxe version .
SSD drives can fail, develop uncorrectable errors or bad data blocks. Just because there are no moving parts does not mean that can’t have issues.
The common symptoms of bad blocks are:
- A file cannot be read or written to the hard drive.
- Your PC/file system needs to be repaired.
- Active applications often freeze up and crash.
- Frequent errors while moving files.
- Generally running slow, especially while accessing large files.
The main reason a hard drive fails is due to mechanical issues, which then lead to all the other issues on top of it. I wasn’t making a statement that solid state drives are immune to issues.
Regardless all of that is moot, here, since my issue went away by reinstalling all my Content Manager content.
I don’t have, and never did think I had, an issue with my drive. I still stand by my original assessment that something funky has been happening in the installation process.

I think the slow opening screen is the game checking which version is owned , due to the deluxe version content appearing in sim for people who didn’t purchase.
This is annoying me also. It was definitely the last update that this started happening. After trying other large file games and seeing there being no change with loading times, can only reasonably conclude it is yet another a sim issue.
Would this problem be good enough for a bug report here in the forum or is this a Zendesk thing I wonder?
Experiencing this same issue… the first loading screen, the one with Bora Bora, is taking about 40 secs, 1 minute before disappearing. It used to take 15-20 secs just a few days ago. It seems it is totally random, because it happens not only with a lot of add-ons. Sometimes it takes longer after UNINSTALLING an add-on. Really weird.
