Loading time before booting to the main menu not improved after SU12

After the checking for updates is completed, when the progress bar is approximately 80%, the simulator always hangs for exactly 3 minutes (180 seconds) doing absolutely nothing (cpu, disk and network are zero in the task manager), then it resumes and in a couple of seconds it shows the main menu.

That sounds very similar to this stopped Oculus OVRService hanging the loading issue I had, which I debugged & reported, was verified by a few people, and finally fixed recently: Stopped OVRService causes MSFS loading to hang for 3 minutes
