it would be helpful if the ‘feedback’ pages on these MSFS aircraft releases were a two-way street.
Since these aircrafts are considered ‘projects’ within the MSFS framework they should be kept updated or have squawk lists that can then be addressed by the project team - no?
The first autopilot was invented in 1912. Several vintage aircraft of the interwar period were equipped with this technology. Famously, the Lockheed Electra flown by Amelia Earhart in many of her record-setting flights in the 1930s featured a Sperry Gyro-Pilot. The same autopilot was also used in Wiley Post’s Lockheed Vega when he became the first pilot to circumnavigate the globe solo in 1933.
It’s not unrealistic at all for planes from before WWII to have autopilots.
I am now wondering if anyone has already completed the mega long bush trips that came with the Fokker VII. I think it’s really cool that MS/Asobo added these.
Will I ever find the time to do them all myself?
No idea but anyway… kuddo’s for the developers!
Hope they continue to support this plane too. I just love the retrofit model and YES I would love an AP and some smoke bellowing out. Guess I should worry about the compass first though and the other basic items that are kind of lackluster.
The retrofit model does in fact have a basic ‘autopilot’. Assuming you haven’t changed the default keybinds pressing Z, Ctrl H, Ctrl Z will hold heading and altitude. If you yank on the yoke too hard it’ll disengage. The other models do not have AP.
ok good this is what i was looking for, not a debate about AP in MSFS. if people don’t like autopilot, simply don’t use it.
the best plane in MSFS (PMDG DC-6) has a GPS autopilot course hold, which some people use and some people don’t. it really opens the plane to a wider group of people as you can do very long transatlantic flights while also having real life to attend to.
Having this same ability in these Asobo planes would also be just as beneficial. so thanks for letting us know there is indeed a working autopilot in the retrofit model.
Is possible get information when reported issues will be fixed?
Or story will be the same as for JU-52?
Silence doesn’t mean there are no bugs or problems in these models.
Add these to the list, if they haven’t been already.
The tail skid suspension is animated backwards, it retracts in the air and extends on the ground. The tail nav light doesn’t appear to be working with the wing lights.
Hello Wallardi,
If you want, you can fly the included bush trips for a few minutes or even hours every day. You can end them at any time by returning to the main menu. When you call them up again, you will find yourself in the air again. At least this saving works again now.
