Does anyone know a way in MSFS to have your aircraft start at exactly the last place you landed (including parking spot) in the exact same state - without having to go through the flight planning main menu and starting all over again . . . I’d like to start a poll to get this implemented as this feature is great when you’re on a tour of a country and was one of the best features of X-plane btw I know some third party aircraft have their own state saving but that still doesn’t save your location.
Just a workaround: For the location I record 10 seconds standing still at the stand with Sky Dolly or any other flight recording tool to be able to load it when I want to continue my journey the next day.
That’s an idea I’ll have to try, does that save the aircraft state too?
Game only saves some variables (mainly engines wear and tear and other internal parameters) here:
\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObjects\Airplanes
Cheers

I have moved your topic.
For the position this tool is far easier, I think:
Adjust position - Save Locations - Broadcast to ForeFlight/SkyDemon/MDFlight garmin watch app for Microsoft Flight Simulator | MSFS
I have created an application that will save the state and location with the following caveats that I understand make it less than ideal/unusable for some people.
- I only fly single engine GA so the app probably won’t work well with other aircraft. I haven’t had time to add settings for airliners, etc. and probably won’t for a long time. I’ve been adding more settings over time, but all GA based.
- When returning the aircraft to its previous location, it often results in a crash (plane not sim). This happens because the sim may have put another aircraft in that location resulting in a crash between the two planes. If anyone know of a way around this, would love to hear it.
This is a god send! Thanks so much
By the way regarding your point 2. I found that it’s the differing Field Elevation that might be causing the plane to crash. I spawned into an airport that had a 200ft msl difference between the saved airport and naturally this made the plane crash.
To double check i spawned into the same airport as the saved one but just in a different parking spot and had no problems - the plane didn’t crash. Which made me think it’s the difference in altitude.
Is there any way of coding a routine that would spawn the plane in at the Field Elevation of the saved airport at all times?
That is strange, will have to look into that. It should spawn at the saved altitude. I know this works because I have used it after CTD to respawn in the air where I was at the CTD (unfortunately, it starts in a dive, but I can usually recover, working on that).
It would be difficult to spawn at the airport elevation, because different points at the airport could have very different elevations.
I have seen it spawn right on top of other planes and others have reported it, so I know that it is an issue
Thanks for the response, that makes sense. Tbh even as it is it does everything I need, i’m just glad i’ve now a fail safe way of doing a proper XC tour where location, fuel and aircraft state are all saved
What’s wrong with just saving the flight? It saves plane state and location/time/weather.
Full state and location saving only works with pmdg 737 . Nothing else I have found works . A real pain for myself . Some good workarounds here most I have tried with varying success depending on the plane. My credit card always stands ready for any aircraft add on that works as well as the 737. Fenix please take note.
