Lock Yoke to Controller?

I am flying in VR with MSFS 2020 and a Quest 2.

While in the cockpit I can point the controller at the yoke and hold the trigger to move it (it turns yellow).

Is there a way to make it so that the trigger is a toggle so I don’t have to keep holding it down?

I want to push it to grab the yoke and let the trigger go, but keep controlling the yoke.

Then push the trigger and release again to let go of the yoke.

My finger gets tired.

Buy a $30 Logitech extreme 3D pro joystick… Way better experience than using VR controllers to fly. Stay in VR for sure, but VR controllers to fly is… Well… Incomplete, infuriating, clunky, and not better than $30 joystick.

I appreciate you taking the time to reply with your thoughts.

I have plenty of joysticks and yokes that I could use.

Are you saying that you know for sure there isn’t a way to do what I am asking? If so I will take your reply as the answer.

If you don’t know for sure, can someone else chime in if they know of a way to do this?

I have a specific target for my desired experience.

I understand using physical devices is your choice of a good experience and respect that. I am glad you have found what works for you.

If there isn’t a way to do this in MSFS then I will go back to X-Plane because the VR experience with controllers there is fantastic.

Most of the planes i like to fly don’t have joysticks so the immersion is not the same with a joystick and the yokes that are worth anything are way to expensive for me.

Thanks again…

You can click around in VR with a HMD controller, but yoke or flight stick use is tiring because you hold your hands in the air. It’s up to you to see your tolerance for that.

Under General Options there is a setting for “VR Controllers Interaction”.
You can set it to “Hold” (Default as you have it now) or “Toggle” to do what you want.
