Suddenly in the last couple of days I am unable to start MSFS 2020 on the PC. I keep getting a message that XBox Live is unable to sign me in. I have tried to start MSFS 2020 via the Microsoft store, have tried restarting the computer after updating both the MS Store and the XBox apps, tried repair for the XBox app, tried to log in to XBox as a different user, tried to start in ‘safe’ mode, but still keep getting these two screens-
and then
Does anybody have any ideas how I can get MSFS 2020 to work again? This has all happened since WU6.
Yes, I can log into XBox.com and it shows my user name and also that I am logged in. It is the same account as where I bought the MSFS from the store. I have deleted the XBox app and reinstalled it, and it logs me into XBox live with no problem. But when I start MSFS 2020 I keep getting the message that XBox Live is unable to sign me in, even though outside of MSFS 2020 it IS able to. All this has happened since WU6. Help appreciated !
Had the same issue yesterday, totally out of the blue. No other chance but to kill the applications (XBox and MSFS) via taskmanager. Luckily restarting my computer solved the issue. No idea what to do if it persists.
Same here. When I get to the screen saying ‘press any key to continue’ it seems to be locked into a loop of log in, cannot log into XBox Live, press any key to continue. Restarting the computer each time fails to clear it. So at the moment, MSFS is totally unuseable for me.
MIGHT have found the solution…took hours and hours but it seems to be working. So if anybody else is getting the same error messages then try the steps below and then after that log in from the Microsoft Store instead of the icon in the desktop tray. I found this possible solution on the flightsimulator.com forums,
RESET YOUR XBOX LIVE CREDENTIALS
In the Windows Search Bar, type Credential Manager
Click Open
Select Windows Credentials
Search for Xbl_ticket
Click on the most recent ticket(s) to expand the menu
Select Remove
You will be asked to sign in to Xbox Live the next time you launch the sim.

At the end of the day, it shouldn’t be up to users to have to jump through flaming hoops with lead boots on in order to diagnose issues and fix problems with Microsoft’s horrible ecosystem. It should just work. And when it doesn’t, it’s should be up to Microsoft to fix it.
