well i just did a flight and checked the log book and it logged my flight as Tomorrow 10/9 lol other than that the info is accurate…
I park at a spot, I have never gotten a continue button.
Then you have never seen that shut down screen, which would explain why your flights aren’t being logged, at least under this patch.
If you don’t see that screen, then you are pressing ESC to bring up the screen where you can edit Controls, Settings, and Assistance, then pressing the button to take you to the main menu. That ensures your flight won’t be logged.
Have a look at the very end of this video. You’ll see me taxi to a spot, following the marshals directions, and as I shutdown the engines, and turn off the avionics, the screen I refer to is triggered.
I have only seen that screen come up once in over 100hrs. (have lost more that 50 hrs.) Before the patch you just hit escape and back to main menu, it always logged.
It they have changed the procedure they at least owe it to the users to let them know and post a list of how to do it.
I have used your shut down dozens of times and only time I got the screen once was at a grass strip and I shut down on the runway.
What happened to me is I have to fallow the ATC instruction’s taxi way after landed to the parking spot and make sure the " twin lightsaber guy" salute at you then do the plane engine shot down, after that the logbook pop up and registered.
Once I try to do the short cut thru the grass and “twin lightsaber guy” never acknowledged and not sure what happened so I turn on the AI and plane went back to ATC ground assigned taxi way back to him and finished run with logbook logged.
That’s great to see it works at a controlled airport, but when landing at uncontrolled fields where there is no Ground Control, you have to look for the shutdown spot, and while the parking marshaller (“lightsaber guy” lol) does go through all the usuals - left, right, stop, it doesn’t show the screen that you get.
This was a pre-made flight using GPS. Logbook does not show the landing. So I think there are more use cases where the logbook isn’t capturing a valid full flight cycle.
Yes, I’ve had very mixed results at un-towered airports. If they have a parking spot, it usually works. I might have to use LNM to position my aircraft in the right spot, as you can’t ask for directions to parking, so don’t have the blue chevrons to follow, but it does work.
If they don’t have parking spots, simply taxiing off the runway, and announcing you are clear, won’t trigger it. You have to hit Esc, then return to the main menu, and the flight is lost. I usually end up flying to the nearest airport that does have parking spots, or if its really far away, I use slew mode to get closer, then land normally.
Looking forward to a fix for this one!
Yeah I flight most controlled air fields but for those uncontrolled air field or air strip I identify them by look at ATC window if there isn’t an option for ground service or just have takeoff option I’ll again turn on the AI see if if it will taking me to a spot if not I’ll just move plane out of the runway and do a engine shutdown in hopes I get it logged. Until it gets fixed I’ll just flight the airport with the lightsaber guys
I’ve been spending a bit of time flying around Idaho. Taildragger heaven there. One particular route, following a river North, takes you to Orofino Mun (S68). This is an un-towered airport, but you can complete a shutdown correctly there.
If you taxi to one of those 8 parking spots, even without the Jedi standing there, you can get that pop-up menu to appear.

Instead of creating a new post, I would encourage everyone to search for the issue, and sort the results by # of votes. Then you can go to the top post and provide feedback there (and hit the vote button). Multiple topics only split the votes and makes it harder to get a real idea of the priority.
