Asking for parking isn’t always an option. For example, I flew into Leadville, CO today and after talking with the (non-existent) tower, I switched over to ground, but there was no option for parking. I’d included a parking spot in the original flight plan, so I taxied there. There was even an airport worker waiting to marshal me into my spot. I got the stop signal and shut down completely, but the flight didn’t end and I got no log entry.
That said, even when I’ve taxied to parking/gate as instructed by ground, it has been very hit and miss as to whether the flight would end on shutdown. More often than not, the flight wouldn’t end and I would have to choose to go back to the main menu. Until recently (my last three flights or so), doing this would still result in log entries.
The other weird thing is that it is sometimes missing take offs and/or landings. My first 1.9.3.0 flight was the Japan tour and it logged my takeoff, but not my landing, which was odd.
Logging just seems to be very buggy and intermittent.
