Logitech Flight Radio Panel

As a SPAD user myself, you don’t need SPAD at all, and they will work fine with the Logitech drivers. But SPAD will offer much more than the Logitech drivers do, and you can customise them how you like. But one or the other, not both as @HXArdito suggests.

Agree, you dont need Spad for default planes. But many of the 3rd party planes, like the CRJ, dont work out of the box with the Logitech driver, and never will. The Radio panel is an exception, it works with almost every plane out of the box, atleast for the CRJ it does.

However, IF you have other Panels, you WILL need spad to get them working correct with the CRJ. As said, CRJ uses LVAR instean of default SimConnect commands and the Logitech driver does NOT support this.

I set up SPAD a few days ago and it took my Logitech radio panel to a whole new different level within a few minutes. I can finally program lots of things on it, from switching between DME1 and DME2 at the click of the active/standby button, to viewing and setting altimeter to custom/standard barometric values, to even powering up the entire unit only when I’m switching on a specific avionics bus. Obviously I had to get rid of the default Logitech drivers which don’t offer much functionality anyway (unless one only cares about default aircrafts but with the exception of C152 I’m not using defaults anymore).

thanks
I only have the radio panel (and fly the CRJ). However I still have the issue that the radio panel will not of itself change frequencies in the CRJ. If I select a freq, it does nothing in the CRJ at all. But if the default ATC want a freq change, the logitech panel is updated to that freq. On occasions I can only tune the Active rather than standby com/navs. I’m wondering if the unit may be faulty!

Where are you looking at? in the FMC or on the Radiopanel on the pedestal? It will switch frequencies in the radio panel.

If I select a freq on the pedestal, that changes and the L/T panel freq also changes (as it should).
However, if I select the freq on the L/T panel (standby side), then try to make it active, nothing happens - both the active and standby tune to the same frequency. Could it be that there is interference from the CRJ?

strange, i have to double check myself but it works for me. No idea what is interferring on your side.

yes.
I suspect the L/T itself. On occasions, when I try to change a freq (com or nav), it will ONLY change the active not the standby. This is not right of course. This, coupled with the problem above makes me doubt the unit. Perhaps reinstallation may help??
ps this is not CRJ specific - has occurred with default a/c

so in the case of your radio panel combined with the CRJ, are you saying it all works OK (out of the box)?

So far, yes. Altho i have to admit, i did not really look on the Radio stack in the crj pedestal as i fly online on vatsim and use vpilot to communicate with the controllers. There it works. Im on the pc soon and i will check if it really works as intended with the crj.

Also, i only use spad next for all my panels and throttle, i dont have the logitech driver/plugin installed.

hmm. I don’t use Spad or FSUIPC, so rely on the drivers to work. By keeping the FS and peripherals to basic, I’m finding little goes wrong (maybe except for this). Maybe it needs a minor update from either Logitech or Aerosoft!

Don’t know but I know Win 10 USB Enhanced saving played havoc with Saitek panels. Won’t hurt to run the “fix” to disable them in the Win 10 registries to eliminate that as your source of problem.

Also if the aircraft you choose to fly does ont have a radio or autopilot, don’t expect the Saitek panels to function in them.

ok thanks
I only fly the CRJ now, as I don’t really like the default a/c…waiting for the AS Twin Otter, BBS Islander, MJC Dash 8, QW787, AH DC3 and Spitfire…all 3rd pty and should be good. All these bar the last two need to work for me!

I bought one last month and thought it was broken at first too. I only fly the Cessna 152 so far and it would only light up once I’d turned on the battery power and avionics, which I guess is realistic.

I recently got the radio panel and I’m trying to set it up with spad. However, I already installed the driver for what it’s worth. So now I’m getting double events, one from spad.next and one from the default out of the box event. Is there a way to empty the default events and only keep the ones from spad.next?

In the Steam version the exe.xml is located under USER/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft Flight Simulator
I removed the logitech lines in the file and also manually deleted the LogiMicrosoftFlightSimulator.exe in Program Files and the default bindings are all gone. I can now add my own events in spad.next.

Thank you very much for your help!
