Neo4316,
Thank You very much for taking the time to explain it to me. It now makes perfect sense! I’m sure many more new X56 owner will appreciate you explanations.
Yes, I do need to create a few different profiles for different planes.
I think there is already a request for FS to use the Mode Switch to invoke different profiles. It would be nice to be able to switch on the throttle quadrant S1/M1/M2 and automatically switch profiles. Any additional profiles would have to be changed manually. Not as many things to change in the Stick, so one can be creative and have fewer profiles for that which can be made more compatible across different planes.
I just got FS mid December and the X56 last Wednesday. So having to learn a lot at once. And between that, I had to get a new PC for FS20 and get all my stuff moved over from the old one.
I’ve had every single version of FS. But even coming from FSX, it’s a big learning curve moving to FS20. And throw in the X56 to program and remember what you programmed where, is another challenge.
I do have a cheat sheet with all the X56 switches on it. It comes in very handy. I changed a bunch of stuff around today and then did some flying and it’s much better than what I had, but now with your ideas I can improve it even more.
Not sure if you saw a picture of my desk in this thread. I keep the cheat sheets on the corkboard on the right.
On FSX I did a lot of IFR flying, so I readily had ATIS and ILS frequencies for the airports I frequently flew into. But most of those are now obsolete, as a lot of frequencies have changed. I’m in the process of updating that too.
Again, Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it!
