anyone have default settings for the Logitech Throttle Quad?
Since update 5 A320 engines throttle reverse when levers on LTQ is idle, have to advance to 25% to get A320 engines to idle position
This may be caused in part by the poor design of the quadrant which doesn’t seem to be isolated from USB voltage fluctuations.
At idle, the jitter in the quadrant will actually toggle and untoggle reverse thrust several times per second.
A workaround is to connect the quadrant to a powered USB hub or a USB PCIe expansion card for steadier voltage, so the jitter disappears.
Nope, it works perfectly in X-Plane. Its the sim since update 5.
I’ve noticed that reverse thrust behavior changed since SU5. before that, it could be activated by pushing throttle below zero but now it no longer works. I’ve tried reassigning Z axis to reverse thrust but it does not work.
what now works is assigning reverse toggle to some keyboard button. once you press it, reverse is activated, and you can control the amount of reverse with throttle lever.
so now if you have say 50% normal thrust, toggle reverse with keyboard button - and you have 50% reverse thrust.
not super intuitive but works
Thanks for confirming that this is an issue. It seems it works the first time, but not after that. So once it is toggled into reverse it gets “stuck” and will not toggle back to forward thrust. Anyone else notice similar behavior?
Edit: Nevermind. This is a hardware failure. I went into the USB calibration settings for the Logitech quadrant and found that the throttle lever’s button is not functioning properly. I suppose that’s what I get for buying used hardware.
I want to try and keep this one alive. We’re talking about this throttle, right? It has a zero detent, and an area for reverse / negative values on all three levers. I can’t seem to get the reverse function to work on the throttle though. I do have a button set up for it, but I would prefer to use the throttle so I didn’t have to press additional stuff.
Any suggestions? I’ll play around with the in-game options and see if I can get it set.
Aha! So according to this guy you can set the “reverse” portion of the throttle as a switch to engage / disengage the reverse thrust option. Looks like it’s the best option for now.
I use this method, throttle into the notchy bit at the bottom and then bring throttle lever up for reverse thrust. To get back, push throttle into the bottom and bring it back up again and you get forward thrust again…
if only that was my only problem though…back to looking at Logitech FIPS for me
If your using FBW play around with the settings on the EFB. It calibrated there.
I had the same issue
I hate to dig up an old thread but I just got the Logitech throttle quadrant and I’m having a similar issue described here but without a fix as of yet.
I’m flying the a320.
My problem is that my throttle at 0% (idle) on my quadrant is Max reverse thruster in MSFS. No combination of setting my negative detent to activate reverse thruster corrects anything as described above. The only way I can use my throttle on the A320 is to park my throttle lever around 20% thrust and listen for the idle detent in the game. It makes taxing a pain because I am constantly overdoing it and activating my reverse thrusters.
Is there a way to set my throttle quadrant to not assume 0% thrust is full reverse thrust in the cockpit?
You need to set it / configure it in the EFB
I do not know what EFB is. Can you explain please?
EFB = Electronic flight bag
