Logitech X52 HOTAS Issues

I recently purchased the X52 Logitech Pro HOTAS. I am seeing a number of issues:

  1. Driver SW Installer never recognizes that I plug in the controller, even though Windows 10 steps in and sets it up as the SW waits with a “Plug in your controller” Graphic and the Next button is grayed out
  2. I cancel that and run the Logitech HOTAS Software and it loads, but says drivers not loaded.
  3. The Windows USB Controller Setup software can recognize it (it loaded MS Windows drivers) and can show all of the buttons being pressed and joystick motion in the test screens
  4. MSFS2020 see’s it and assigns all of the butons.

So you would think all would be great, but, the throttls lighting never comes on. It (and all of it’s buttons) are always off (others have complained about this on the Internet but no solutions offered)…So far I “think” this is the only issue, but WOW, for $250.00, logitech cannot produce current, accurate drivers?

Anyone else see this?

I am going to return this

The lighting will come on if you restart the PC (not shutdown)
I have the X52 and its always done that on every PC i’ve had.

If I want the lights to cone on, I start the PC, log in, then select RESTART and then when the PC starts up the second time, the lights come on.

Do you have the logitech drivers loaded? If so please let me know which ones.

The drivers in use right now are the Windows drivers. When I try to force the others ones, Windows says the best drivers are already loaded (the MS Windows versions). Other than the lighting, it seems like it works as expected…but man this annoys me after spending so much money.

Hi, no, I haven’t bothered with the Logitech drivers for years now. The Windows 10 ones where just a repackaged version of the Windows 7 ones, and caused more problems than they solved… the only thing that worked well was the ability to change the led colours on the buttons etc.

I’m on Windows 11 now and haven’t put the logitech software on.

Edit, just checked and the “new” Windows 11 Logitech drivers are the same ones from 2018. They haven’t been updated in 4+ years.
