Hi, recently purchased a X56 HOTAS flight stick, its very kewl!
During flights the “zoom, landing gear, speed brakes, and flaps” will activate without being activated.
I have checked ALL buttons and hats for duplicates, none exist.
Anyone else having these problems?
Makes for some interesting flights.
Either you have a ghost haunting you or you are missing some keybinds somewhere.
P.S. I have an X56 too but no ghosts.
Are you using a “powered usb port?”
The X56 does sometimes create “fake” or ghost clicks, on the throttle.
This is due to faulty insultaion of cables inside.
The solution , in many cases, is to plug onto a “powered usb” port , usb 2.0 is preferred (to 3.0).
It seems the additional power available helps to separate real signal from noise/random activations.
Best is therefore to have a dedicated powered port for the throttle and not shared with joystick.
Good luck!
Thx, Ill give that a try!
My condolences on being another victim of the X-56. Using a powered hub did not help me. The problem is reduced (not fixed) by lowering a lot the brightness of the LEDs, to a max of 20% in only one or two colors.
People who doesn’t have this problem, I suspect have top end motherboards with lots of VRMs (Voltage Regulator Modules) of high quality. My seems to have only 4 that tended to overheat. When I improved my cooling, the problem of the ghost clicks on the throttle also improved, since it is the VRMs that power everything connected to the MB, including the USB controllers.
My next step will be installing ferrite cores on the wiring inside the throttle. There are a few tutorials on the Internet and You Tube.
I have the X-56 connected directly to my PC. I have no problems at all. I have also used it on a powered USB hub also without problems.
I connected to the hub for a while to be able to turn off power to the HOTAS when not it use. but eventually just went back to direct connect since i was a pain to reach the USB hub to turn the power off.
I could see having problems when connected directly to the PC if you power supply was struggling to provide enough power, but with a powered hub, don’t know why it would continue to have problems.
Yeah, I think your correct. I have battled “throttle” problems for 20 years now. Yup, its voltage for sure. I have now connected the throttle to a USB port on the front of my case and it seems stable. Also, your right on voltage regulation on the motherboard, some are good, some not so great. You would think a “peripheral powered USB port” would work, but, nope! Hopefully the port im using now stays stable.
What motherboard are ya using?

I have a Dell XPS system. Build late December 2020.

thx, ill check it out
Thx, ill check it out
So, recently purchased X Plane 11, I owned 10 also. I have no throttle or joystick issues in that sim.
I will assume FS has over sensitized the X56 a bit. I did move my throttle to a different USB port and seemed to have solved the issues. I am in contact with Logitech, and will follow up with them.
Just to let you know I also fly X Plane 10-11, I have no problems in that sim at all. I suspect MSFS has over sensitized the throttle and stick a bit. Im talking to Logitech also, Ill let ya know what they say.
