Long Freezes and Potential CTD when using Cache CCD on the 7950x3D

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Sim has long freezes (upto 30 seconds), or CTD when CCD Cache cores are fully loaded on process lasso for MSFS 2024.
Image shown below in the media subsection for reference. I currently have all processes except the sim, fenix etc on the CCD1 (frequency cores). The sim is on the Cache (CCD0) cores.

No.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Intermittent. The pauses have occurred twice in total, in my three test flights thus far with the above process lasso settings. More testing needed to determine actual frequency.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

1. Use process lasso to set CPU affinity for all apps/processes except MSFS2024 to CCD1: Freq
2. Set MSFS2024, Fenix etc to CCD0: Cache

Thanks. Just updated to 24H2 last night and have been seeing the same thing — with virtually the same computer specs as you. Now the sim just freezes permanently upon loading into the main menu

Hmm interesting. I had not considered that 24H2 could be a factor but read this recent post of mine. I had the exact same thing with the “up to 30 second pauses”.

No CTD’s though (at least not related to the pauses) and I’m not using Process Lasso at this time. I had been experimenting with different settings for the X3D / Core Parking options (both via Bios and via Game Bar) and I could see that when the pauses happen it was not using the frequency cores at all, so I put it down to that being not the best combo of settings I had for this particular flight (heavy scenery and lots of close multiplayer aircraft in group flight).

Since then I’ve had a new motherboard fitted but not had time to fire up the PC yet. So we will see!

…but I thought this post of mine could be useful info to add here. I watch this thread with extreme interest…

X3D Gaming Mode

My goodness this game is enough to drive you bananas. I’ve just had the worst experience I’ve ever had in the four years of flying this sim.
