Longitude oscillation roll unaddressed in latest patch?

Anyone but me still seeing the left/right oscillation roll in the Longitude at cruise? Did they really not address this re-introduced problem in this week’s patch? :frowning:

They did not. I loaded the ‘stock’ Longitude after the update because the update itself rendered the Longitude Flight Dynamics Mod ineffective. The first thing I noticed was that it swayed left and right. I wondered what the problem was, then realized that I was loading Asobo’s Longitude. I downloaded the Longitude mod again, and presto, no more rolling.

I’m in the middle of a flight way above some vicious storms from SC, USA to somewhere in Canada. GPS. Smooth all the way to FL200 and back down to 3500 ft. Nary a problem here. I’m still flying the stock Longitude with a gnarly pain scheme. On Pause while we eat dinner. Now for a place to land.

I’ve noticed it doesn’t happen when I’m dealing with a headwind. But when the GS gets up, as with a tailwind, it’s ridiculous. How could they not have addressed a problem identified by so many, and which they’ve already fixed once before? I’ve heard about the mod but it’s absurd I, as a user, should have to go to the trouble of fixing a problem the developers can’t or won’t.

The Longitude Flight Dynamics mod is working fine. I don’t know why you think it’s ineffective but you are mistaken.

I picked it up for the first time while flying last weekend.
I read somewhere that it starts up after the first waypoint is crossed.
I did notice that to be true, as I was flying Eastward across the US, using “High Altitude Airways” at around 21,000 feet. Toggled AP off, took control of the aircraft, aligned with the GPS, toggled AP back on, and it continued to wag back and forth.

Quite annoying. I never encountered this before with the Longitude.

Jim-Sim

[Edit for clarity: I’m using the stock MSFS Longitude. No addons.]

I use Dakfly’s Longitude performance mod and get no oscillations in NAV mode. For me, this mod is the default Longitude even with every update MS/Asobo puts out !

He meant the mod was ineffective AFTER installing the latest update

And what I’m saying is that you are mistaken. It’s NOT ineffective after installing the latest update. If you’ve installed the mod, then you already know that it changes one of the files in the official aircraft folder. After ANY update, the sim usually overwrites any changes in the Official folder. Therefore, it logically follows that after an update, IF you have changed any files in the Official folder, WHICH the Longitude mod does, you must REINSTALL the mod (or at least reinstall that one file).

The latest default C700 still oscillates. * Sigh *.

It sure would be great if WT had a whack at this wonderful plane. Stepping to it from the TBM is like having an old, but very much faster friend. Minus the oscillation issue. It’s a jet with the speed of a commercial jetliner without all of the dang buttons. I don’t know how the commercial pilots do it, honestly.

Can I ask why you haven’t tried the longitude mod that fixes this problem and improves the plane considerably?

I have been enjoying not having “any” mods in my community folder. I did encounter a few CTD’s along the way so I would really like to not tempt fate.

That’s why.

I may consider installing it though, since enough time has gone by since my last CTD.

I really do like the plane. I just wish, since I paid extra for it, that the plane flew responsible like a plane “should” fly…

Ok, well enjoy the default Longitude then.

P.S. don’t install the WT g1000/g3000/g3x mod either

I’m not using any mods either. Depends on your expectations.
Performed a few flights with the 787, A320, Longitude and the TBM in the last few days and didn’t encounter any showstopper problems with any of these aircraft.
A pleasant surprise.

My current flight at FL430, with a tailwind of 60 kt does not produce the oscillation. My previous flight with 90+ did cause the oscillation. They will eventually get it fixed up.

A lot depends on the wind direction. If there are gusts, the crosswind simulation is way off and causes roll oscillations.
AFAIK the CRJ has the same problem.

I did create a Zendesk on this oscillation issue.

Pink Floyd: “Is there anybody in there? Just nod if you can hear me? Is there anyone home?”

On my latest flight to FL450, I very carefully watched my climbing speed and avoided going into the red zone of the speed tape completely. Red or Red slash stripe avoided.

Once at FL450 there is no oscillation in this flight. I have a right to left crosswind of 95 kt and still no oscillation.

Could we be damaging the plane’s trim on the ascent and have no way of detecting damage or can see it from the outside view?

In your next flight if you could confirm this then we may have a solution.

How do I get the performance mod?
