Looking Forward To AMD’s FSR 2.0

This article indicates FSR 2.0 is fairly easy to implement with great improvements in FPS performance while maintaining quality graphics. It can also provide these boosts to NVidia GPUs.

Can’t wait for it to be implemented here.

I do not see any benefit for my rig here. Most users will anyway be mostly in a CPU limited situation, you wont gain a single FPS then. Currently, I even turned render scale up to 130 on my 6900XT on 1440p to move more load to the GPU in order to balance against my 8700K…

I definitely will having an RT5700XT and R7 3700! There’s a lot of us out here who will benefit.

It’s my understanding you can actually turn on FidelityFX Super Resolution today with SU9. The only thing lacking is the sim doesn’t do anything to enhance it. You just need to:

  • Turn on FSR in your driver under global graphics
  • set up the sim:
    • full screen
    • select a resolution lower than your monitors native resolution
    • render at 100

Your driver/video card will then upscale the output to the monitors native resolution. You can switch over to your Adrenaline driver in-flight and verify FSR is on (green checkmark). I’ve tried it on my AMD RX 6800 video card and it did help a little but I turned it off. My strategy has been to have my Samsung QLed AI upscaling engine off load this work from the video card as the video card has enough work to do.

Yeah I’ve tried that but didn’t like that feature. AMD FSR 2.0 is supposed to be so much better. Thank you for that explanation, I’m sure it will help a lot of ppl!
