Yes, also sometimes scroll/zoom gets stuck, where you can’t zoom map without zooming screen as well. Usually clicking 1 of the 2 windows sorts it, but I’ve had it stick to both.
Worse, is when the mouse cursor won’t activate. Seems to happen when you need it most.
Ah that is so annoying. Randomly clicking and moving the mouse to try and get the thing back. It’s another one of the very reasons why I’m glad I don’t use the virtual cockpit that much. I have my instruments and controls external to the sim.
Ok guys, so to be exact here… when I move my mouse to another screen that is using, lets say Navigraph etc, I lose all control of the screen with MSFS and cannot control the plane with my stick and yoke.
Are you saying that this DOES NOT happen to you? If so, it must be one of my settings and will need help tracking it down. Please advise!
I also have 3 monitors and use many other programs while flying. When I move to a non flight sim monitor, I must left click on it to loose focus from the flight sim monitor. Not an issue for me. Do you have flight controls bound to your mouse?
I use two monitors. I see the same thing. I use a flight stick and throttle to fly and put my objective VFR Map and ATC on the second monitor. When I click on an ATC option or zoom the VFR Nav Map with my mouse, I lose joystick/throttle control of the flight until I move the mouse back onto the primary monitor screen.
I do not have any flight controls bound to my mouse. Could this be a Windows issue?
I think I fixed it. Go to GENERAL OPTIONS > ACCESSIBILITY > COCKPIT INTERACTION SYSTEM. Set it to LOCK instead of LEGACY.
I do not lose control of the plane when I am clicking on the other screen.
Lock is the answer. Legacy mode is primarily for mouse users.
You will still lose control if the window you move mouse to is popped out from the sim. i.e. vfr map, atc window etc
Yup. If a person is in a flight all you have to do is mouse click on the VFR map and you’ll lose control of the aircraft until you mouse click back on the sim.
No biggie in AP but a real pain in the rear if you’re not careful otherwise.
To add:
I’m using 4 monitors, with only one used with FS 2020 (because FS 2020 doesn’t work correctly with more than one) so this might be an issue.
A work around for this is by setting your controllers in an external app such as FSUIPC or SPAD.neXt.
Still a pain as the main screen loses focus & you need to click back on it to regain other functions.
I’m not sure I’m clear on what you are saying. Are you suggesting that with the flight controls set through SPAD or FSUIPC then they never ever lose focus and it will only then effect clicking in the vc.
If you are then this will sort me out because I use Air Manager for my cockpit instruments and controls so don’t need the vc.
Yes that’s correct. I only just discovered this recently after purchasing a GTN750 GPS from RealSimGear & I was wondering why my rudder pedals were turning on and off when taxiing. It was because I was touching the GTN screen to zoom the map & it was taking focus from the main screen. My yoke wasn’t effected as I already had that set through FSUIPC but not the pedals. Have re programmed the pedals through FSUIPC for the aircraft I use the GTN with & made a new control profile in the sim for them with no input for the GTN aircraft.
Very interesting. Thanks.
I just realised that according to the Realsimgear web site their GTN750 does not support MSFS so what are you using on it and how is the touch working correctly because it’s broke in MSFS.
I’m using PMS50 which if you search around on the RealSimGear website there is mention that it does work & indeed it does. You need to download & install Penmount Monitor to get the touchscreen to talk to the app & the only issue I’ve had is that unlike Dustin at RealSimGear I have to run the GTN in windowed mode so you get a small white bar across the top of it . It doesn’t look that bad & as Dustin says he can run in full screen mode there must be some Nividia monitor setting Iv’e not got right.
In P3Dv4 with Flight1 GTN I can run full screen & it uses the Garmin Trainer so has more functions.
However I’m finding PMS50 is really handy particularly because you can tie it to a weather site to give you airport weather reports.
Really impressed so far!
OK. I’m interested in how this is working. I have a touch screen that I also run the pms50 GTN on and touch does not work. Every other window I drag to the monitor can be controlled by touch just not anything from MSFS. I also have the Garmin trainer based apps but from Rxp. I miss them in MSFS.
I wonder how this is working when nothing else seems to. Weird.
Do you have Penmount installed? When setting up you need to nominate the screen that is your touch sensitive one & calibrate it plus select mouse emulation. I don’t have any other touch sensitive screens apart from the RSG GTN so I can’t check if it works outside the GPS.
No I have different touch screens so that driver is not my solution. My touch works perfectly with everything other than anything from the sim. I think you can enjoy it while we have to wait for Asobo to fix the sim touch for everyone else not using your combination.
I’ll investigate the mouse emulation that may be the key.
Any solution to this problem?
Is it a known bug that will be fixed in upcoming updates?
A huge problem in Home cockpit setup!!
