I tried the DNS Change and it worked for two days. I tried a VPN, nothing helped, the error remains and I am again unable to fly!!!
Still no cure. Installed now a free VPN, connected to a US server and currently the sim is still stuck at around 97% after 10min… there MUST be a reason not related to Telekom as provider. Especially, cannot state this enough, since before Patch3 all worked fine and fast here
Yes, I didn’t have major issues with the bandwith either before the patches came in. I had an occasional “low bandwith” message here and there, and photogrammetry cities looked more blurry/“lumpy” and less defined than in MSFS 2020, but the overall experience was at least decent for me.
Right now, I am using the changed DNS settings in my Windows ethernet settings and the simulator runs a bit more reliably again with higher download/streaming speeds. But I am afraid this could change any time, reading your, @ScionRhino31278’s and @FrascaRange’s posts.
me too but nonetheless I tried about 10 times this morning since 0700 UTC to start 2024. with VPN and DNS settings. mind sharing your DNS numbers, please? Would like to try yours, too
I used the DNS numbers recommended by @Wilbur3203:
- primary IPV4: 1.1.1.1
- secondary 1.0.0.1
- primary IPV6: 2606:4700:4700::1111
- secondary IPV6: 2606:4700:4700::1001
Maybe it is important that you change the settings for both your IPV4 and IPV6? And please bear in mind, that these settings didn’t work well for me either just a few days ago, I had a totally blurry landscape when approaching Bilbao in the sim. So it is really a hit and miss experience with these DNS settings, sadly.
thx, those are which I use too to no avail. will keep trying but also re-opened a zendesk ticket to keep the “pressure” up
Yes, it and it usually is slower than a direct connection as well.
Did you try using them in your router as well?
I contacted Telekom again.
They know that peering is a problem, but wouldn’t offer any help. Only thing they could offer is double up my connection speed. That indeed wouldn’t solve any of the actual problems.
I decided to leave Telekom by January. Will report back if the problem is solved then.
That will most likely only help you if you switch to satellite or mobile. Most of the physical infrastructure in Germany is owned by Telekom. I am having the same issues with 1&1 and only managed to get it solved with the DNS solution.
Have you tried synchronizing your clock?
These two Zendesk pages contain a lot of possible solutions for loading issues.

Today so far all fine, just for the record. fast start of 2024, fast loading of flights. No VPN, just DNS set on PC level these days. Will see what happens (again?) around 1400/1500 UTC as before
Whatever you guys do just make sure to report it to your provider. Telekom for Example has a help forum for such things. They will probably only work such issues if many are effected.
They know this issue before MSFS2024,
They just don’t care. You’ll find several topics in their help forum concluding it’s your own fault.
Still all fine today. Just flying again, 2024 loaded quick (about 2-3mins), also loaded quick into the flight no meaningful circle time. no error messages during the flight yet. maybe something WAS fixed in the background? Anyway, just saying but will have an eye on this…
They also flew for a while, so the amount of data or downloads increased and there was therefore traffic on the line. That is often the problem for me.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Yes! The “solution” no longer works for me. This is a real killer.
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
• Changing DNS in Windows worked for a few days, but now no longer
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

These two pages have no bearing on the problem at hand. The answer just seems to be a distraction.
Unfortunately I am also affected. You can also read about the problem with Telekom in several forums (or for me via 1&1).
Loading times were quite okay, but since today landscapes we’re looking really bad again. Seems to be a server connection problem again.
Southern Germany / Telekom via 1&1
Terribly long loading times with regular bandwidth notification since launch
DNS solution did not work. Just now installed a paid VPN and it works flawlessly.
This issue needs to be solved ASAP. I never had problems with MSFS 2020 and I do not intend to pay for VPN forever.
