Hi all. i’m having a problem with clouds. I have my settings selected for High-End, and my frames are about 40FPS, with latest Nvidia drivers, but my clouds are really bad in resolution, they look pixelated.
Does any one have this problem?
Thanks

Difficult to know what you mean by low res if there is no screenshot
Thats how they are, not currently any way to improve them (assuming you are seeing same as me - without a pic it is a bit difficult to be 100% certain!)
They can look a bit dodgy at times but I can forgive that, they are so far ahead of anything I’ve seen in a flight simulator in 30 years of “flying”!
i have the same problem but no resolution.
Yeah, I think I know what they mean but I figure that it is either an issue they will improve it is a necessary sacrifice for the clouds to look as good as they do and still be volumetric.
It can look a little odd of I stare at them, especially around edges where there is blue sky so, I don’t stare at at the edges, especially when there is blue sky
put the cloud settings on ultra
Unfortunately that doesn’t eliminate the problem, I still see fuzzy patches in the clouds and artefacts particularly visible around the edges. Notwithstanding that, I still find the sky looks awesome at times!
the artifacts on cloud edges are usually side effects on how shaders interpret volumetric clouds. After spending years messing around with volumetric clouds in minecraft shader packs, its extremely difficult get them looking just right. Ultra or going up in game resolution does eliminate a lot of the artifacting around cloud edges but not completely.
but the clouds will look worse at 1080p. I run at 1440p and the cloud artifacts on cloud edges are almost gone, and at 4k they are even better. Ultra didn’t really see much difference but base game resolution does improve it.
The cloud tech used in this is one of the best I’ve ever seen implemented… When Ray tracing comes, that might completely eliminate the issue
then, 1080p ist the problem. the simulator seems to not scale down good for 1080p.
I am a 1080p gamer with 1080p hardware
An easy fix - don’t fly over the clouds
Hi, I know this topic is a bit old, but I have the same problem.
Not all clouds look bad. But this looks really not good. Why is it like this?
This might get better with DX12, have nothing changed since release.
i need my garmonbozia
i have another proposition, watch any video with 3d force sky for p3d4/5… in this game only shine is about perfect, and clouds recreation they are live now, and so it’s best in any way, but clouds as is their resolution ugly without any euphemisms, they are ugly and weak( no cirus no broken no normal cumulus resolution, this is pixelated garmonbozia forming from something unforming, so some time it’s looks perfect but some time when you close it’s just can be ugly with evga/vga standard pixelated… so why p3d sky(modded of couse) looks like more realistic, but only with certain day time and angle and only in msfs sky is alive, well i prefer alive one ugly mf, than pretty doll(jejeje… i don’t sure any more lol)
